Direct hoses :)

@Janesy B also recommended direct hoses.

Thank you.

My dilemma is having bought a stubby gun which does not fit the old style Karcher C Clip - But hopefully I can find a C Clip style hose to my pressure washer with a new style other connection!

I’ll look in the morning, I can’t be the first person to run into this problem :)

Send them an email and they should be able to make a hose with those connections :-)

I have a hose from Direct Hoses, and I'm happy with it (I'll caveat that with the fact I've had it only for about a month), but I have read that their quality isn't the best - especially when compared with hoses from Qwashers (who only seem to have an eBay store?).

Also happy with the stuff I ordered from directhoses after seeing @Janesy B post it here - was the first place i'd seen that did a short trigger and upgraded hoses compatible with the Bosch unit I have

Gave them a call, extremely helpful. However he believed my hose "Should" fit the Stubby Gun after describing the connection's to him.

I suggested if I was to nip down with my hose, stubby gun would they be able to see what I require to get it all working and i'll purchase a longer hose either way, whether it's me being daft or not! They are fairly local, 20 minute drive and he was happy to do that.

my 15m karcher hose arrived yesturday from directhoses far better quality than the one that came with the K4 hopefully it'l be more of a pleasure to use than the karcher stock hose which always kinked on me and was short i couldnt get round the Mondeo estate without moving the pressure washer.

I have the car a clean today, and I decided to try and treat the exterior plastics to some protection. There's four areas on the car with plastic, the windscreen scuttle, the corners of the front windows where the wing mirrors mount, the front grille and the rear diffuser. Some of these areas are intricate, so I bought these:

Dabbed a bit of Koch Chemie Plastar (a drop goes a long way) and worked it into the nooks and crannies. Didn't do the grille or diffuser though, there's hexagonal recesses around the exhausts that are impossible to dry (unless I had a blower) and the grill on Alfa Romeos will take ages to do!

Oh boy am I shattered, been out on mine all afternoon til it got dark and had to wrap up.
Bilt hamber Touchless snow foam
Bilt hamber Touch on wash
Bilt Hamber regular clay bar using their surfexHD as a lubricant
Tried out a Halfords green drying towel as was fed up of orange bits being left behind from my old knackered chamois
Left green fluff everywhere instead.. hopefully only because it's brand new..
MER polish
Then a Meguiars Hybrid ceramic coat glaze.
and finally some fast glass inside and out on all the windows.
Didn't even get chance to hoover it or take a photo so no doubt it'll be ******* down tomorrow so will be filthy again by 7am when I arrive at work

Seems a little backwards Fuzz, whilst Touch On does have detergents, it's also applying a sealant at the same time. Doing that and then claying that protection off doesn't make too much sense process wise.

Washed my partners Toyota G Wagon… Inside and out, it was filthy and of course the inside was no different.

Finished it off with a coat of Autobrite - Carnauba Cream/Wax which left a much warmer, glossier finish than before.

Both trim and tyres coated which brought them back to life.

Oooo the brownie points :D

I need to give my Merc a proper clean this week, it is frankly disgraceful and has not has a proper deep wash for 'some time'.

Question, what are you chaps, chapesses and those in between and around using to clean the plastic in your cars. Think the protector strips on the door entry and also, what can you recommend for cleaning alcantara as my wheel with 20k miles of hand gunk now needs.

Thanks!

Soft detailing brush for in between bits of plastic trim, with an APC (I use Surfex HD) if you haven't done it for a while.

For alcantara, you can use Koch Chemie Pol Star: https://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/products/koch-chemie-po-pol-star

Slims detailing have an offer at the moment, 15% off Bilt Hamber, Koch Chemie, Car Pro and a few others with code EASTER15

Good time to buy some decent stuff.

Let me know if you want a list of things to start off with.

Autoglym interior shampoo (impressive on fabric too used with a good microfibre cloth to lift the grime) followed by their vinyl and rubber protector. I usually use rapid detailer on the door strips. I use my steam cleaner on the door nooks, gets to all the bits that nothing else will.

Limited experience with APC's - I bought Auto-Finesse Verso in 5L Form a long time ago, it's concentrated therefore dilutableso is lasting me a very long time.

Really happy with this product as an interior APC - When agitated it foams up really nicely, but wipes away effortlessly and leaves behind no residue, for me it was essential that an APC for the interior was pleasantly fragranced, most APC's are extremely chemically however Verso smells LOVELY, "Fresh/Cotton (Think Febreze) is the best way I can think of describing it.

I also use this with my Wet Vacum and extract it from Carpets/Seats - Does it all for me.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the car cleaning scale... I ran my company car through an automated car wash and the machine mistook my passenger door for an alloy wheel and plunged the super abrasive wheel brush into the door leaving a perfectly circular patch of scratches. Hurrah! *facepalm emoji*
