Took my wheels off yesterday to clean inside them. They didn't come up as well as the front face of the wheels but at least I got rid of the ugly line of dried salt around the inside of the rim. :) The pics are of two different wheels. Sadly the after pic's insides were all black from the brake dust and that wouldn't come off but not too worried as you can't see it. You could easily see that dried salt line so dead chuffed it came off for the most part.

Maybe I should look into getting the alloys refurbished.

Did you read my post properly? :p

The before and after pics are from 2 different wheels. Upon reflection maybe not the best example.

Anyone recommend a wheel brush to get in between my wheel and disc brakes? It gets very tight on the front and the current brush I have catches on the disc and starts falling apart >.<

car cleaning thread. i really recommend car cleaning products for cleaning the bathroom

ag shampoo, leaves the tiles sparkle sparkle, water sheets off and does leave marks.

turtle wax platinum extra gloss on the shower screen, water beads off amazingly, stays uber clean for ages.

just some cheapy polish/wax on the floor keeps the granite like a mirror.

megs metal polish on the taps and other bright work keeps water marks off

you should try it guys

:( why are you wasting good car cleaning products on the bathroom. And shouldn't your missus be doing these jobs??

Going to clean my 350z for the first time this weekend. I have always taken my other cars to a car wash, but want to keep the zed well looked after (and no swirlies). Going to go with megs stuff from halfords, as a i dont have time to get it online a little bit cheaper. As im a complete noob im going to purchase the following:

- Gold class wash and wax kit (with applicator)
- Smooth surface clay kit (comes with quick detailer, microfiber towel, and wax cleaner (what is wax cleaner?)
- 2 x super thick microfiber mitts
- wheel cleaner spray
- ultimate polish

A few quick questions - are microfiber towels used only for drying? Do i need to buy and use separate applicators for polish and wax?

And just so i know im doing it correctly

- wash car with shampoo & mitt(s), 2 buckets, wash wheels with spray and mitt
- dry with microfiber towel (s) (do i need more than 1 towel)
- clay bar with detailer spray
- polish using applicator
- wax using applicator

Am i missing anything? I really am a complete noob and would appreciate a quick nod in the right direction

Many thanks in advance!

Took into cleaning the car this evening and give it a quick polish as was very dirty!

I think I am going to have bite the bullet finally and get the someone to detail it as I want some of the small marks out of the paint work.

Anyone know if there are fakes of Meguiars products knocking about? Namely the soft foam polishing pads? Genuine one on the left and the new ones I got from eBay on the right:

The official ones will have the name indented into them. Tbh with this sort of pad they only cost a few quid, probably not much difference between a real one and a lesser brand.

I chose to have the black shiny floors, against her opinion, I had to take responsibility for keeping them looking nice. If they're not cleaned properly it leaves streaks and smears like on your car etc

After we had finished fitting the bathroom the wall tiles needed cleaning up because of excess grout etc so after cleaning them I used some car products which made a huge difference
