Quick snow foam again, will need a contact wash when I next have time and a seal. Blasted some of the drain areas behind the bonnet too that were collecting junk, the TT at least has lots of open and really easy to clean drains from the bodywork.

Unfortunately the Mcguuires Ultimate Compound hasn't helped much. It looks the same tbh.

Anytjing else I can try? When I run my finger over it I can't feel anything so surley it's just on the surface

What did you use to apply Mega UC with?

You can increase the cut with these types of products depending on how soft or coarse your applicator is/was.

Megs UC with the right applicator and technique should be enough to remove that defect safely, usually German paint is on the harder side too meaning a super soft applicator is unlikely to achieve much regardless of product.

Edit: So would definitely give it some more elbow grease with a firmer applicator before buying more products if you haven’t already.

The road salt from the last few weeks of around 1000 miles of driving has been wrecking my mind and as we now have some nice weather ahead, today it was tackled. Under the arches on the inside lips I used 4 microfibre towels scraping away layers of salt and muck, too.

I just used a normal house cloth to apply then dry away with micro fibre. What should be using to apply it?

Have you tried using a Microfibre Cloth to apply Megs Ultimate Compound? It will take some effort by hand but if working the Compound enough with a decent technique should certainly improve the appearance or remove those marks.

Usually when Polishing by hand I would use either a Microfibre Applicator or Foam Applicators which are made specifically for applying these types of products but as you are focusing on a small area rather than a full car then the Microfibre cloth should work fine.

I still think Meguires Ultimate Compound has the ability to remove those marks as any other Polish/Compound at Halfords will be much the same and it’s just a case of working UC properly.

Did a really deep clean of the interior this weekend.

Love LRC Leather cleaner and Protector, actually smells of leather. P&S Xpress Interior for the plastics and vinyl, and AB Direct Alcantara although I don't like the smell of this stuff. I see LRC do an Alcantara cleaner so I'll definitely order some of that.

Finding the Dyson V8 very underpowered for car cleaning, and I'm sure the battery is on its way out after 5 years of ownership.

Bought a new battery for ours, was only about £40. Has worked well. That said, yes, it’s weak for the car.

Looks like a wire brush, lol!

An OEM battery? Where from? Didn't realise you could swap them out! Might get one of the more powerful ones, although I have the charger for the V8 mounted to the cupboard wall.

Ha! It does now you mention it, I can reassure you it's the LRC horse hair brush. It's quite a narrow brush head which is great for cleaning awkward places like where the leather dash meets the windscreen, the gear selector and door cards.

You can buy them direct from Dyson. Been thinking of doing the same, our V8 is about 2/3 on a full charge now. Never bothered with it for the car though unless it's a quick clean up. Use a karcher wet dry vac

Had my car ceramic coated a few weeks back - any recommendations for a good (and reasonable) shampoo thats ceramic friendly?

Bilt Hamber Auto Wash 100%

I've had mine since 2019 and I've still got some left - it's super concentrated, and you only need 5ml per 10L bucket, though I prefer to use a bit more if the car is super dirty.

What do you guys use to wash the salt out from under the car? Any special attachments you can recommend? I have a Karcher K5 FWIW
