Well chaps the Wischerblatts arrived today, super fast delivery 0.o.
The quality is immense, a lot higher than any blade I have used before, that includes Valeo and Bosch. They come with high quality plastic end caps as well, I'm not joking, it feels like tough German plastic!
The instructions are also in colour and the packaging also shouts of a high quality brand. Fitting was a breeze and they fit so flat that the model name "Super Flat" is no exaggeration.
I'll check out how they wipe in motion tomorrow on the drive to work but so far I am very impressed.
Oh yeah, these don't have any ends that can "pop" off, they are completely one piece. The box says they're made of "Liquid-Fix Graphite", whatever that is.
For £15 they seem to be an absolute steal. So yeah, get them!
Bought some of these on your recomendation Mr Mrk...
For my 1999 Peugeot 306. They don't bend round the screen properly on the passenger side! So I'm left with a big gap at the last 2-3" of the wiper between it and the screen.. but then it cleans the screen once it gets 1/4 of the way into the wiping..
Ah well.. Damn my curvy screen. Have emailed the seller to see if he has sent the wrong ones :\
Bought these the other day, fitted today, one of them doesn't work at all. Nice big area directly in front of my eyes is totally unwiped, completely useless. Quality isn't all it's cracked up to be IMO.
Oh, pass side one doesn't sit flush with the screen on e36 either, nearly 1" up at the end.
Why would I need to defend anything? I only ever post my experiences, if my experience has been a positive one then why would I lie and post something different.
And anyway, the Alca ones aren't exactly ebay specials.
Edit*
And others who have put them on their e46 cars (bmwland) have also had positive experiences. And this thread is about e46 vehicles so...go figure.
I posted my experience of these blades on my car. Having had Valeo, Bosch, Halfrods own and ebay ones over the years on the same car I felt it was relevant to post my opinion of them in this thread.
Oh i understand that, i just think it's strange that you rate the Bosch ones so poorly and these others so great, yet others seem to give less than glowing reports on anything other than an E46.
Out of interest how many times have you changed your wipers over the past 12 months, and has this been out of necessity i.e. patches not wiping on the screen etc?
I change wipers once or twice a year. Looking back now, all the blades I've had have not had un-wiped patches but instead after some time begin to judder on the windscreen. They wiped just fine even if they did judder though. The non aero blades from Valeo and Bosch juddered the loudest.
I rated the Bosch ones lower than the others because they didn't last as long as I was expecting them to while the cheaper ebay ones lasted a big longer depending on what ones I got from the seller. The Bosch cost twice as much (or more if bought from the dealer). I don't keep blades on longer because I want to try something new and after 6-12 months of coastal weathering I find it's worth doing anyway anyway. The Alca ones are still wiping as smoothly as they did the first few days though so I imagine they will last longer than others I have bought before.
I don't care if something costs more if it's worth the extra. But I do care if it costs more and doesn't end up being worth it, like the Bosch blades bought from both Halfords and BMW.
Blades don't last too long down here with the salty weathering but the Alca cost £15 and have a smarter looking design than any other blade so I'll just get them again later on in the year when needed.
