The Crew

Launch game, black screen, crew.exe has stopped working. Quite a few people posting about it on the forum.

Some people have said unplugging peripherals fixes it but that doesn't work for me :(

Hmm not sure what to make of this so my thoughts so far.

+ Huge map that you can go anywhere on.

- The framerate is 30fps and it shows it feels horrid. My 290 sits at %80 usage V-sync off still 30fps. It's very chuggy @ 1440p and lowering to 1080p makes little difference. Although this does seem the norm for Ubi PC games.

- The car handling is the usual turns around a central pole so everything feels rear wheel steer. The cars just wallow everywhere.

- The graphics are not that great, some nice detail but it looks like a console game.

- Had it CTD twice

Tbh I'm not sure on this I need to give it more time. There is a huge map to explore but it feels like a bad Need for speed.

Will keep going.

The physics seem the same as watchdogs. I imagine it's running the same engine as it runs like turd.

What makes you say that? I've not had any issues with it, I find it runs very well considering it's a beta and there's no proper driver support.

It run's at a solid 60 FPS for me when I unlock it in the config running Ultra settings and FXAA instead of 4xTXAA.

I have not unlocked anything in the config we really should not have too tbh.

As is it runs just like Watchdogs and feels very similar.

I have just been exploring the map which is Huge so more time needed to get a better idea.

So far for me it is everything I would expect from a UBI pc release. The actual game could be fun but the poor execution of the engine ruins it.

just signed up for beta... hopefully get in as this game looked amazing when they announced it last year (i think). but already skimming over the comments in here I'm beginning to doubt it...

mention on friends being "ghosts" instead of physical....collide-able entities :( want to give them a cheeky nudge now and then!

The NDA means NOTHING.

Would love to see a gamer prosecuted for being in breach of an NDA.

As said, cover up your Ubi name, all is fine.

well it's more UBI can kick up a fuss with youtube/twitch for breaking NDA agreements, strikes against your name, bans... etc...

for average person doesn't mean much :p but if you're trying to build a living from twitch or YT then you need to be very careful as it can be ended by a few mouse clicks.

game companies can be very petty, a short while back a guy did a review of a sega game ( I think) and gave it a not so great review. the company then put in a black mark against him for using the game without their permission; despite that the guy had written permission from them saying that he could use their game footage in a youtube game review video :p but yeah... that's 2 he's got from companies being ****s. one more and I think the channel gets deleted/banned/what ever
