The Crew

Is anyone experiencing car stuttering in cut-scenes after the latest patch? After being out of the cut-scene, everything is back to normal...this is rather irritating. There appears to be other people experiencing this and apparently it's related to the 60fps lock.
Anyone knows how to fix this (except locking it to 30fps)?

I've always had this. This is with a GTX 780 and a 120hz monitor. Still get that stuttering effect while using cockpit view as well. Would love to use that view but the stuttering about is just unbearable.

I find some of the missions boring and the game confusing, I enjoy just mostly driving around exploring in my Ford Focus RS, very slow car through, 130mph top speed without nitro. Should be 165mph..

Get the pref spec Focus and all will change. You can reach 230mph without Nitro.

I get this with my R9 290

I'm running a 770 4GB with no stuttering in cockpit view or loading race cutscene.

I know it's an absolutely disgusting revalation but you could try rolling back to previous driver revisions. Can't say I notice any performance increase with each driver update these days after switching to NVidia. So you aren't loosing anything, but saying that, with my old AMD the driver releases made a massive impact in fixing issues and occasionally a little boost in performance. Up to you but it's a viable option that could completely solve it.

It's a shame how dead this thread has been, especially considering how the console thread throws hatred at the game but this PC thread all enjoy it.

I guess the racing genre as a whole isn't particularly popular.

The problem is the game doesnt really offer much once you've completed the story missions. yeah there's all the faction stuff but CBA with that. grinding cars to 1299 is seriously boring as well.

It doesn't help that multiplayer is incredibly poor as well. There's hardly anyone playing, they are almost all in level 1250 or above versions of whatever the most OP car is, half of them will just crash you and there is very little control over what kind of events you can join. I wouldn't mind if there was some incentive to playing multiplayer, but you can get parts and money far more easily in the freedrive challenges.

I'm not even sure if you can get parts in multiplayer because the only cars I have are the slowest ones in each category by a margin that skill just cannot counter

Yeah a friend and I played religiously together for hours at a time but as soon as we completed the story he's never played the game since.

I'm not sure why you'd still be stuck with a crappy car and hate multiplayer? It's simple;
- send friends on faction missions to earn 150K every time
- race 10 PvP sessions to get level 50 and unlock platinum parts
- spend 9 minutes to buy a car and farm parts till it's a grade 1200

Done son!

I can't say I've ever had issues finding lobbies in PvP and it's really rare to find a race with collisions on PC. I am officially bored with it now but I'll probably head back when they add extras, it's still early days isn't it.

Time and being back at work mainly for me.

Even though iv'e not maxed out the game like the guys above, both are extremely valid in their points.

Always think to myself that ubisoft are missing a trick, you're right the pc crowd are taking to the open world customization sandbox nature of the game. Problem is when you look at other pc games like eurotruck, farm sim ect.. in the open box genre, you have open community development running side by side with cost content.

Ubisoft's beancounters keeping it a closed shop is strangling the game in the pc creative world. The crew would be massive if it were opened up to community development. The old need for speed, mods, cars, tracks were huge back in the day, the people that made all that would be all over the crew.

That would be fantastic!! If they allowed the community to make new maps and missions but Ubisoft don't appear to cater to the PC community too much.

I read some other fantastic suggestions like a capture the flag mode, an infected race, a delivery race, and so many brilliant ideas that I hope we'll see.

I've put a little time into this and I'm starting to really enjoy it. I hated it at first but I changed my mindset from thinking it was a racer, to thinking it was an MMORPG. Start off rubbish, keep working and levelling the car up until it's good :D

I'm on most nights if anyone wants to play, my ID is harmzsingh

Thanks.

I noticed something so strange after adding you to my uPlay account. You were level 50 when I added you back in December but now you're 20!

Did you discover a way to restart the story? How on earth did you go from level 50 to level 20?

If I were you I'd complete the story before leveling up too much, it's a lot more fun having a battle against AI and feeling like you only just made the mission.

If you think the cars feel decent now just wait until they've been tuned! That's a great thing to look forward to but tuning them first them completing the story missions is a tad boring.

The in game chat interface works too!! I was able to actually talk to PvP players, went something like this:

Me: Breh
Vin: Yo
Me: Gonna smoke yo ayss old man
Vin: Not on my watch
<Nitro off the start line>
Me: How's my dust taste
Vin: Too soon junior
<Vin won>

New patch.

Looks to be fairly extensive, certainly a lot of the shortcomings have been addressed.

A week away, but for the improvements to pvp, ai, the blasted cops.. tweaking the handling a little, balance and boosts... they nailed the issues putting people off.

Still no fixes for the terrible wheelspin under nitrous, or for some of the cars that have been repeatedly demonstrated to be very sub par on the ubisoft forums :(

Out of curiosity, what faction have you guys joined?

I wanted to stay on Wolves (football team) but there's no one around for faction VS faction so I joined Bears.

I stuck with the first area faction (wolves?) figuring that there would be sod all opposition which would mean I get a bit of free money after they inevitably win that month's faction war. After visiting the forums it turns out my theory was very much correct

It's what.... 3K at most? So small that the spills aren't really a factor (especially after discovering 'send friend on faction mission'). The only feature that interests me is faction vs faction races, yet I've never been able to join one :(

I took a long break and jumped back in last wekeend. It's been so much fun playing lately with the chat screens working, the difference that makes is amazing.
