Man, this game is so good.
In which other driving game can you watch a launch of space shuttle ?:

I gotta say, this really feels like the game was tailor made for me and I love it.
Things I always wanted in my ideal racing game:
mix of both mundane and beautiful exotic cars (check - Wolkswagen Golf and Pagani Huayra or McLarens or Ferrari are in)
beautiful varied world ripe for exploration with things to see and enjoy (check - compressed USA with zero loading screens and fast first loading)
well done cockpit view (check)
fun physics/driving model (check)
good music (kinda check, I really like electronica and ambient radios as well as the original soundtrack..only complaint would be the lack of custom mp3 station)
total freedom, possibility to drive on and offroad (check)
day/night cycle, dynamic weather (check)
nice graphics with good optimization (check - runs at 60fps maxed and looks great)
The only other games that had these were TDU 1/2, no surprise I also loved them. And now the same devs did it again, on steroids, even better than before. Yay I am glad Ubisoft funded this, because after Eden Studios shut down, I was sad I was never going to see this kind of all encompassing driving game again.
Oh and it also has a revenge B-flick story, which is not great, but it's not terrible either - I only had to roll my eyes once or twice

I like Troy Baker so him voicing main protagonist is cool.
The integrated multiplayer has no value for me for now (and I don't mind, I actually usually prefer singleplayer) but after I am done with the story and exploring I will get into it as well.
Just riding from city to city, enjoying the sights, no HUD except minimap..pure bliss:

I finally bought the wheel and the game supports it perfectly without any setting up needed:

I must say, I think if Ubisoft released the game in its Wild Run current state, without season pass/microtransaction shenanigans, AND made the player start in some more appealing city (NY, Miami..just not Detroit FFS), the reviews and player impressions would be so much better. I think it would easily get 9s in reviews.
