The Crew

excellent driving game, 3440x1440 native in game support, ultra settings on a 1070gtx perfect. a birthday treat. it is however still useful to know that alt+f4 still works.

Really enjoying the game, Not had much issues except some minor stuttering near the starting area which seems to have now completely gone.

Just had a play of the game with aa turned off and surprisingly it actually still looks really good.

I still had temperal aa on what ever that is.

You're kidding me!!

Is there any chance you could give us a screenshot (or a photo from your phone camera, which ever is easier) of your graphics settings? Are you overclocking?

My 1070 isn't able to play this in ultra settings let alone ultra and 4K!

The guy you qouted is playing 1440p wide not 4k.

By the way my old 280x seems fine at 1080p ultra (no aa)

Dave, fancy sharing your system specs?

I'm running 8GB of RAM which I've recently discovered isn't enough after watching some deep analysis of GTA V performance based on RAM quantity. I suspect that will also help with this game too.

16GB of high speed delights just arrived today so I'm looking forward to testing it out.

you must get stutter Sarg, just like everyone else regardless of what FPS the game is running at. Mine runs at 90fps to 120fps but the stutter is crazy after about 20 minutes of driving in and around the major cities. It's a known problem with the game, hundreds and hundreds of posts on the the UBI support forums about it.

It doesn't happen to everyone. I get some light framedrop from time to time (only in cities) but it never becomes too distracting, usually just a couple seconds of 40fps instead of 60.

80,000 credits should be the lowest faction race you send your friends on. There's not many to choose between so make sure you're using the races that return the highest profit.

Honestly, no I haven't noticed any stutter. The FPS drops for a second if I go into the map and back out again. Other than that I have no issues. I'll play some more and let you know if any issues like that arise.

Apparently this eliminates the stuttering:
Turn AA down to FXAA. MSAA and TXAA are hopelessly broken and will induce mega-stutters.

With FXAA and every other setting maxed, you can rock 4k at a solid 60 fps no problem with a 1070. Definitely wouldnt recommend this if you have a 1080p monitor though, as there will actually be quite a lot more blurry edges due to the downsampling.

I run it at 1440p and only use about 40% gpu usage this way. However, with MSAA or TXAA, I was hitting 100% gpu usage and my cpu usage was also hitting 100% for some reason... causing all the stutters.

I just gave it a shot AND EVERY SINGLE STUTTER HAS COMPLETELY GONE! I can finally play my favourite racer with every single setting cranked to ultra bar AA using 2715x1527 res and it's running like silk.

Ok now I feel like my 1070 was worth the upgrade.
