The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

In a really tough choice right now.

Been offered nearly £40k more than I paid for my car. By the time the zorst is removed and sold would probably be looking at £45k in the back pocket, minus expenses on the car.

That kind of profit is just insane, my brain is saying "what are you even thinking about" while my heart is saying "you love this car so much".

If I sold this, took the profit, added a bit from the banko/crypto, and a bit of finance, it puts me into ~£400k car territory quite comfortably.

Already have plans for what is next, but in the meantime do I dare to venture into Polo territory like @Housey for 6 months? An 812 is an itch that needs to be scratched, though finding one in the spec I want could take a year easily as only 1 has been on the market in 6 months.

SF90 is there as well, though the prices on these seem to be up and down like a yoyo. My thoughts was go go GT3RS or similar, but with a new GT3 on the way it could hammer the prices, so no point chopping out just to lose the value.

Whatever it is, also need to be about to chop out of it quickly in ~6 months time.

Tough decisions to be made.

so perhaps remedy that first?

In a good situation where I am now, massive solar array that basically means I live for free Gas/leccy wise from the usage + feed in tariff. Plus its a nice area, low crime, well connected, middle of the country, pretty affluent area, no issues parking the car on the drive or worries about it. No need for a bigger house right now. Also have longer term plans for a self-build so no point moving at this moment.

For the last week the car has been at litchos having some paint protection bits sorted. The front end was absolutely peppered so they sorted that out as well as some other little bits.

The paint protection spray has *really* earned its keep on this car.

Anyway, thought to myself I'll get this sorted and send it down to VVS to sell the car. But on the way back, filled her up and just as I was walking back looked at the car and knew that, no, its not time yet.

It might seem silly emotional to leave 40k on the table, but honestly the drive back, the sound, the feeling, the feedback. This isnt just any car, this is one of lambos flagship battle cruisers and it makes you feel special when driving it unlike anything else ive owned or had the privilege to drive.

So for the short term, she will be staying.

Hard to imagine much on there being a quick fix.

"Quick for a lambo".

In fairness on the underside as long as they dont have to drop the gearbox, which I doubt, it shouldnt be too hard, uncouple the shaft between the front diff and gearbox, remove the seal and put a new one in there.

Might check the workshop manual and check

Yea, so theres 12 bolts to remove the shaft, which then exposes a nut which holds a flange and a standard oil ring seal.

The seal is £84, the flange is £420 and the nut a modest £33. Plus probably 2 hours lambo labor and transmission fluid :D

Lambo confirmed the leak was from the flange but going to completely re-do the whole assembly because its only a little bit more.

Total cost: £914. With £901 covered under warranty.

Just waiting on parts to turn up now so have the car back in the meantime.

Whats the latest with the Police issue @kindai? Have they been fired yet

Taking time unfortunately. However as of this post every application / request made by myself or WMP has been ruled in my favor.

I currently have an application in to strike out WMP defense and award default judgement to myself as evidence which should have been preserved has been deleted / lost.

Its a bit of a stretch but ultimately it isnt for the police to decide what evidence is or isnt relevant to a judicial review, it is the court, so hopefully they get slapped for that.

Today was a special day.

On top of possibly the largest Lambo meet in the UK ever at Silverstone, I got to have dinner with and a chat with Mr Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Lamborghini.

Before we departed I just had to get a picture with him. Such a nice gentleman. Shame my crappy phone camera wasnt up to the task

So car was in for a service and with it the repair on the leaking gearbox.

Asked them to get some photos of it, and they did!

Into Lamborghini Birminghams new state of the art service center. You may spot some very nice rare beauties on the ramps also.

Up she goes!

First thing first, lots of gearbox oil needs to be taken out.

img_0288.jpg

Quite a lot....

img_0289.jpg

Next, support the gearbox as the front brace needs to be removed.

img_0292.jpg

I actually have no idea what that thick ass cable does.

img_0293.jpg

And from the other direction going into the front diff.

img_0294.jpg

Remove the cardan shaft which sends power to the front diff.

img_0297.jpg

Mark and remove coupling

img_0299.jpg

And theres our leaky flange.

img_0301.jpg

Remove and replace with a shiny new one

img_0303.jpg

While it was in there it had a full service.

The big one.

The butt clenching one.

Unfortunately this is where lambo still have some catching up to do with their competitors, while they try to spread out the service items, every now and then you get this service where they do *gestures at the entire car* pretty much everything.

On top of the service items being replaced, everything else is inspected for tolerances also, you get charged ~12 hours labor at lambo main dealer rates.

Thats net price, VAT on top.

Expensive but fantastic service so I guess somewhat lessens the blow.

Said this to you on messenger I can service the 458, 600LT, Exige, Alfa and Yaris and still have change from 5k. :D

Yea, its the one part that really stings in lambo ownership, even if it is a v12, 5k on this service and then another 2k for an oil and filter is a bit sadface.

Sadly Lucas passed away on Sunday after putting up a valiant fight against this horrible disease.

While they tried everything they could including enrolling him in various clinical trials and new medications, ultimately this is still a condition that is terminal on diagnosis.

I lost my grandad this Sunday also, so I must say this news has hit me for two, and an open invitation has been put out for his funeral, which, a number of the car guys are discussing attending as a send off to this brave and young petrolhead.

C’mon, spill….

Long story short, imo, they didnt want to have the judgement of one of their officers put under scrutiny, and with my badgering for the statements of the other officers, and the mysteriously missing camera footage, it never made it to the court date.

Ultimately, given by the time if it made it into court, the judgement handed out and the warning quashed from police records, it would have been nearly 12 months on and the warning expired, one could argue they "won" regardless.

Also made several procedural mistakes due to having to learn as I went along, which meant I only got to recover my court costs and not any billable time. So no fat payday either.

However, to be proved right is the most important thing, and with the knowledge I now have on top of the hidden(ish) dashcams, will happy go another round with any irate idiot officer who pulls me in the future.
