The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

I would sell and then maybe in 12-18 months try to get an STO, they should drop in value by then. But then again those doors, I can't think of anything that has as much presence for the money

Thing is, an STO is still just a huracan and they really arent an "event" to drive like an Aventador stock. Granted round track they are monsters but still, if I was going STO, it would have to have a VF supercharger and the AWD mod done to it. And thats truely dead money you never get back.

So being a nice day thought to change the battery.

Nope, being lambo it seems the bracket holding the battery down at the back can only be undone from under the car with the tray off.

None the less, a nice shot of the front end package and suspension.

How hard can it be to change a battery?

Well, very, apparently.

Battery in, put all the front trunk liner in etc went for test drive.

Started out fine, about a mile in electrical systems started to misbehave, lost the ability to change gears.

Tried to turn around to get back and car in front was going super slow so eventually the car stalled out. Waited 2 minutes, car restarts, got back chucked on code reader.

Changed old battery back, cleared codes, went for a long drive, all seems fine.

Car isnt happy about "something" with the battery. Thinking sod it, might just get a standard AGM now

Was lithium battery an option on your car from factory?

Seems odd though considering I’ve fitted such battery to Abarth, S2000, E46 M3, F-Type SVR, Mustang and Exige, all without issue.

Nope, but plenty of people have done this upgrade without issue.

How’s the voltage on the new battery? Maybe it arrived a bit low? Italian cars are notoriously fussy with batteries and the gearbox not playing ball is often a telltale sign. It basically thinks there’s not enough voltage to make the change so refuses to even try.

Happened on my 4C even with a 0.2v drop, it gets exacerbated down the line to the ECU with aging connectors etc eventually reading even less to the point it gives up.

The opposite, "overvoltage" warnings on everything from TPMS to the door release to the gearbox. Its showing 13.5 volts at the terminals, the ECU is reading 12.5v

Maybe completely unuseful but other high end cars in the VAG group (R8 etc) need the new battery recoding after a change, by changing the battery serial no and/or part no within the cars ECU (using VCDS, doubt lambo uses that). If you don't do this it can cause all manner of electrical gremlins.

Strangely enough when pulling up the previous battery, it was never coded into the car.

"All the modules lose memory including the clutch and the door handle module."

Wouldnt explain why putting old battery back just "worked".

You not getting lubed up in the big house yet?

Not yet. I had an email 2 days ago with a minor update from the Professional Standards department saying its been escalated to a senior case handler due to the potential seriousness of some of my points.

I'm guessing they've watched the video from the cars involved, and looked at the email correspondence and realized they're in a very deep hole as the officer has lied about the chain of events.

So today I was up doing some filming at an airfield.

The day started out with 4 asbos waiting for the 5th to turn up:

Lucas as of 2 weeks ago was a normal 9 year old enjoying life, when a sudden turn of events led him last week to being diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a rare type of brain tumor.

Hes a petrolhead (and a lambo petrolhead at that!) even at that age and Baz Firth, the man who moves mountains to make special days for these kids happen, put out the call for a number of people this Saturday just gone to arrange for some special cars to turn up for his 10th birthday, and boy, did the car owners deliver with a huge turnout and took him for a drive in a Huracan.

Unfortunately I wasnt able to go on Saturday but realized the place we were filming today was not far from where they live, I put the call out the relevant people, and on very short notice they got him to see, sit in, and enjoy some amazing metal, including that Avendator Ultimate that turned up with delivery miles on the clock.

Lucas was so polite and grateful and it was really nice to see him enjoying the lambos, even if he did have to go cat nap a few times to recover his strength. And his dad is an absolute trooper, a true gentleman moving heaven and earth for his son. They want to raise awareness of DIPG, so thats the main reason for this post.

Lucas' treatment starts next week, so all of us are really hoping that he responds well and I hope to have some positive news to post in a few weeks once we know, and hopefully some videos of the days filming.

Supercarfest with @Gibbo and @DRZ today.

Lots of photos no doubt to come but I was doing charity rides in the lambo.

Got a good 15 or so runs and raised a load of money.

@DRZ macca looking even more insane in person, and @Gibbo fezza just absolutely timeless it still looks as good as the day we picked it up.

Got back to messages like this alongside so many DM's I havent even gotten through them all yet.

So the tally is apparently in and I managed to raise £800 for Acorns Childrens Hospice. Unsure of what the other cars raised if they managed to catch up to me after I left :D (Kidding, its not a competition but it feels good to manage so much in 1 day!)

Its worth mentioning Sporting Bears take NOTHING from the donations. No admin costs, no expenses, it is all covered by the drivers including our own expenses and wear and tear.

Meanwhile on the way back Gibbo and I were just on cruise and a BMW rolls down its window, and out pokes a camera lens.

Just got sent this, rather amazing rolling shot.

One of the best “car days” I’ve been to in a long time. Not just the cars but the atmosphere of it all. Absolutely superb stuff from just after 7am when I arrived to a little before 5pm when I left.

I am just too tired (and sunburned!) to sort pictures and videos right now but if you check out @v8poweruk on Instagram I have put up a reel of one of my runway runs which I think was 156mph. I could have got maybe 160mph if I’d taken some brave pills and pushed things at both ends of the runway but after watching a 720S going (slightly) off the end of the runway I decided not to risk it and brake (hard) at the chequered boards.

Hehe, should have asked, I always keep some emergency sunscreen in the car. These events being on windy open areas often mask how hot it actually is so you just crisp without noticing!

Got sent one of the passenger vids via the gram, so unless someone knows a better way screen recorded and uploaded to youtube :D

We have something even more epic planned for next year :D :D :D :D :D
