The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

Is that foam stuff any good compared to just using normal shampoo? I've always thought of it as a bit gimmicky.

Most on the market are useless and yes a gimmick.

Bilthamber (when used strong) and magifoam however actually shift dirt really well. I prefer the magifoam for the thickness stops it drying out in the sun. And the results above speak for themself tbh :)

Finally got around to finishing up and dressing. Might paint the fences, probably not though.

Do you plan for a cover or anything? I have an outdoor cover for my 4C just because I hate how grimy it gets. Not 2 hours after washing and it’s filthy again from dust or rain, season dependant!

Driveway looks awesome, I’m so hyped for the day I afford a garage lol.

Nah, even with all this sandy rain we had recently just blast it off with a pressure washer and some snow foam.

Its going in for full bodywork PPF in a month anyway.

I fancied a cover then got put off them. it's a pain though as its getting 3rd wash though in 14 days tomorrow and its only done one 12 mile drive

any info on protection you getting done? want to get something done on mine

Yes, its the Litchfield Paint Protection Spray.

Not much more than you would pay for traditional paint protection from a quality place using top end films, but many many more benefits. If you plan on keeping the car for more than a couple of years then its well worth the investment. The downside is people are queuing out the door for it right now due to how good it is, so you are looking 3 months before they could even fit you in if you went that route. If you do want to go that way let me know and I can put in a word for you.

Trialed it on the GTR front splitter for them while all the formulations were still being worked on, and it did the job amazingly since then its had more refinements and perfection and really is the best you can get imho.

Thanks

re the BH snow foam, I use that, you say its better "strong" I use about an inch in a bottle, do I need more?

/edit just looked and £4k + vat for the paint protection

Yea I use about 1.5-2 inches on BH foam.

And yep, not cheap for a full car job, but not too bad either given the work involved, like I said, if you plan on keeping the car for a good few years it would be worth it.

Might as well get parts resprayed instead.

How to devalue a supercar in 1 easy step :D

Not much going on right now while stuff works through.

Funny thing today, the DPD driver who covers my area dropped off a delivery and like a school kid asking his first date out blurted rather awkwardly "can I take a photo sat in your car".

Turns out he has been building the courage to ask for weeks and when hes had a delivery on a day not pouring with rain haha.

Happy to do it, took a picture of him sat in it side on with the door open in the air, bet that was his photo on facebook before he made it to the end of the road :D

Even big kids love lambos :D :D

So a few weeks back, dropped the car off to Litchos for the old worn and less than flattering PPF to be removed and their spray PPF to be applied.

It overshot a while, but finally got to pick it up today.

It has transformed the paint. In person its no longer "dulled" and the pearl just pops.

Super happy with the end result. And so much stress removed on maintaining the paint.

I suspect it’s superior

Its much more clear, and equally as durable, and given how it can be layered with paint in between and such, machine polished, and peeled off without issue. It also doesnt need a solvent based adhesive which most standard ppfs do.

Its such a shame, that car really really needs no/low impact front plate.
Have you tried anything else, stick on plates etc?

Yeah I'm on that as well.
Hope he updates today so I can start the portables as well, be good to know if you can run a portable on the OG pool, I can't see why you couldn't as you can farm them solo just the same.

Tried some stick ons, looked even worse :(

What're your thoughts on windscreen chips/replacement? Unfortunately I've had to have a windscreen in almost all of my previous cars; my E43 picked up a nasty one on passenger side not that long ago. It'll likely need a new windscreen to be perfect. I don't think they'll put OEM glass in though which is why I am hesitant...?

Check your policy. My insurance allows me to spend £200 excess rather than the £50 and get OE glass.

Looks good buddy.

My PPF saved the car on my Scotland trip for sure. Most of the cars were stone chipped to hell. I have a windscreen company coming out tomorrow to fix 3 stone chips, 1 of which is right in my sight line and the screen looks pock marked. PPF has a few marks in but seems to have done its job well. I am now a convert.

Absolutely. The old PPF on the car was really battle worn, which was one of the reasons for replacing it as it looked tatty, you can see it had done its job.

Not to soon I’m off to Scotland today for a week and hoping we get some good weather.

If your local shell has vpower, fill up matey.

Just went to my local shell on fumes, no vpower so had to fill up with cheap. Drove to the next shell, also no vpower. Apparently there a shortage in the country and most garages are running low or completely dry waiting for a refill.
