The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

Driveway progress, the eagle eyed amongst you may notice the subtle humped nature of the brickwork. If my calculations are right this will give the car full clearance from the pavement apex before the back wheels start to decline down. The difference is only around 2 inches but should make all the difference. And it will look nicer :D

Are you going for a resin bound drive? What base are you putting it on? I was under the impression that it needed a solid base?

Yup, under that "mess" above is basically a solid slab of concrete. Then compacted crushed tarmac is what youve got in the picture to get the additional lift, hot tarmac will go on that Thursday morning and then the resin top layer Friday all going well.

Got some snaps in the sun. Shortly after it had attracted quite a crowd of people, even lambo themselves said ones in this color are few and far between and despite the issue with the wing the car is so clean they are quite amazed, given the age, low milage, perfect condition.

Is it a Lambo warranty so they're footing the bill, or third party dealer with a slush fund? Be glad you spotted it early, that would be a painful bill out of warranty for something so innocent.

Dealer with slush.

What drives me mad.... and this is a moan is the fact that simple things cost so much for no reason. So this breaks but the cost is just stupid for what has actually broken... why? Because they can and it's a Lambo. There's absolutely no need for it really or maybe there is... who knows but it drives me mad.

Yup, and they think its actually just the actuator/motor brake that needs to be replaced but you have to buy the entire unit.

One question though, can you actually drive it at reasonable speeds on UK b roads without risk of it bottoming out and causing huge damage? I see this as a reason for people selling such cars sometimes although it doesn't look like it's admitted to all that much. I guess if you know the roads well enough it's not a problem, but elsewhere it seems a genuine concern?

Aggressive speedbumps can be close but thats why it has a lift system, but for normal road driving not a problem.

Hey all! Suns out lambos out.

Needed to go down to Litchos today to discuss some bits, so enjoyed a rather spirited back route drive there and motorway back. And ooof, the more this car gets driven the more I love it. Corsa mode is SAVAGE. The gear shifts are so violent it unsettles the car on these crappy pzero tyres, which isnt saying much as even double downshifting and flooring it can have it hunting for grip.

Anyway while there discussed about getting the whole car done in their paint protection spray. Agreed a price with Iain and booked in for May to have that done so the entire bodywork will be protected rather than just the front facing surfaces.

Drove back in the more gentle Sport mode. The road presence is something else, just cruising along in lane 3 and everyone just gets out the way.

All in, just under half a tank used to go from Bromsgrove to Tewksbury and back :D eep!

But worth it.

Parked up on new drive, couple of photos :)

Doh!!!!!!

Only gone and kerbed an alloy. Fortunately it was the lightest of touches so its just taken the lacquer and a tad of paint off, but no damage or cutting into the alloy itself.

Booked into a local refurb company who are fantastic tomorrow (they got the color matches on the GTR perfect every time) to see whether they can do a spot repair on it or a full respray jobby.

Spoke to Sue this evening and she did say for big jobs its 2-3 weeks off right now, hoping mine is a spot job they can fit inbetween other booked work.

Unfortunately while they would be happy doing a spray job to repair it, they would prefer to re-coat the whole wheel for a more durable finish thats less likely to have issues down the line.

Given theyve always done a top job for me in the past with honest advice have taken their recommendation for the slightly more expensive option.

Price agreed with a socially distant handshake :)

Car was getting a bit difficult to see out the windscreen with the miles being piled on the last few days. Have a valet coming to give it a full proper clean next week but in the meantime...

Autobrite magifoam and then pressure washed off with a raceglaze 0ppm filter and left to sun-dry.

Good enough :D
