The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

All of them? No. But a significant proportion of them? Absolutely.

Energy prices are starting to wipe out small businesses and it will only get worse. This is having a knock-on effect as suppliers to those businesses go bust and so on. I think we're at least on the precipice if not already in freefall and times are going to be extremely tight for a lot of people who might otherwise be insulated from things during a "normal" recession.

Agreed. Most people I know who own supercars (and, dare I say it, many supercar owners on OCUK) are not properly rich, they're people who have a successful small business or have taken advantage of some wise investments. If I'd done well enough to have such a car in my garage and got a good offer for it, I'd definitely be moving it on right now as I can't see their values going any way but down. Happy to be proved wrong though!

This!

My view is @kindai can make 40k now, sit on the money and then buy a potential replacement in 3-6 months for upto 40k less, that is 80k saved no matter how you look at it.

Once GT3 is sold as in funds in my bank I won't pounce on a 600 LT Spider unless its a superb spec (for me) at a good price, otherwise I might as well bide my time and sit back, wait and see how market force impact 600 LT prices, they do seem somewhat more resistance to the downwards trends of other Mclarens which is to be expected as there is only roughly around 150 Spiders in the UK, so small numbers of a pretty iconic car and an LT to boot.

I think that’s probably wise. It’s free money, basically.

Looking forward to seeing Crypto Polo though ;)

In a really tough choice right now.

Been offered nearly £40k more than I paid for my car. By the time the zorst is removed and sold would probably be looking at £45k in the back pocket, minus expenses on the car.

That kind of profit is just insane, my brain is saying "what are you even thinking about" while my heart is saying "you love this car so much".

If I sold this, took the profit, added a bit from the banko/crypto, and a bit of finance, it puts me into ~£400k car territory quite comfortably.

Already have plans for what is next, but in the meantime do I dare to venture into Polo territory like @Housey for 6 months? An 812 is an itch that needs to be scratched, though finding one in the spec I want could take a year easily as only 1 has been on the market in 6 months.

SF90 is there as well, though the prices on these seem to be up and down like a yoyo. My thoughts was go go GT3RS or similar, but with a new GT3 on the way it could hammer the prices, so no point chopping out just to lose the value.

Whatever it is, also need to be about to chop out of it quickly in ~6 months time.

Tough decisions to be made.

How is this even a tough decision, get it gone man. 40 grand is 40 grand no matter how fun the motor is.

Get the money into bricks and mortor and let the bonkers cars follow? Money is to be made in bricks and mortor for you now with that capital..

Your driveway is not suitable for a Lambo, winter storage is a pain and it can't go in the garage.

For the last week the car has been at litchos having some paint protection bits sorted. The front end was absolutely peppered so they sorted that out as well as some other little bits.

The paint protection spray has *really* earned its keep on this car.

Anyway, thought to myself I'll get this sorted and send it down to VVS to sell the car. But on the way back, filled her up and just as I was walking back looked at the car and knew that, no, its not time yet.

It might seem silly emotional to leave 40k on the table, but honestly the drive back, the sound, the feeling, the feedback. This isnt just any car, this is one of lambos flagship battle cruisers and it makes you feel special when driving it unlike anything else ive owned or had the privilege to drive.

So for the short term, she will be staying.

Anecdotally, I couldn't imagine anything in spray form offering protection against stone chips especially those being kicked up at track speeds. That stuff must go on pretty thick? Dries into a thickness of PPF?

My car was fully PPF’d before I bought it and it’s saved the paint no end. My car would be chipped to hell without it after some of my road trips, which tend to involve some closer driving on often mixed road surfaces. It cleans well and seems to have taken the hits really well.

I am a convert to its value.

Same. I’ve got some craters in my PPF already, more than offsetting the cost of it!

Hard to imagine much on there being a quick fix.

"Quick for a lambo".

In fairness on the underside as long as they dont have to drop the gearbox, which I doubt, it shouldnt be too hard, uncouple the shaft between the front diff and gearbox, remove the seal and put a new one in there.

Might check the workshop manual and check
