Thats what I thought of the game initially but it does get much better.
I was very dissapointed with the game at first because of the repetitive gameplay and the blurry graphics didn't help and I was going to give up and un-install the game but I once I was 3-4 hours in and used the Crysis Advance Graphics option to tweak everything to extreme (minus the shaders, shadows, water and SSAO) and also getting rid of that blasted vaseline blur x4 MSAA & Lapace Edge AA, everything was now beautifully pin sharp with high-res textures and framerates was much better at 1080p.
Having completed it I would now give it at least 8.5 out 10 and I'm starting to really enjoy playing the second time round.

I've heard that before, it was MW2, it didn't get sorted till something happened on the PS3. I haven't experienced hackers yet, i probably will soon.
lol textures don't go high res with the tool.
I completed it and found it to be nothing more than a linear COD clone, my score...4.5. How I missed the open world of crysis with all the playable vehicles and great destruction and physics, crysis 2 fails on so many counts.
thats absolutely shocking! thats worse than MW2, saying that had a couple of games like that on MW2 on the 360, spawned dead, spawned dead. some dude who thought he was a clever **** by hacking! hackers and abusers must be hunted down and shot in both knee caps!
Found this on a forum for anyone having the flickering issue with CF/SLI
"Seems the problem may not be with ATI or Nvidia drivers but with the Crysis 2 ver 1.1 auto update. Open Crysis 2 root file, open backup folder copy Crysis2.exe.bak and rename as Crysis2.exe. Open Bin32 folder (if you are using 64bit OS) and Replace Crysis2.exe file with the one you have just renamed from the backup folder. Seems it works perfectly - running at 90fps no flickering"
Changing the exe file to rift worked for incidentally.

true, but without the blur they certainly look sharper.
Say what? You think that Portal was terrible and HL2 was average
Fair enough everyone is entitled to their opinion and you like Crysis 2 (personally I am quite disappointed with it) but those are 2 of the best games ever made...Half Life II is really good, but its not a masterpiece, enjoyed playing through Half Life II and the episodes, didn't think it was special or revolutionary in anyway, at least not in the way that some of the reviews make out. Portal on the other hand is terrible, though a bunch of my compatriots like it very much so guess its just not my sort of game!

I played it through and was glad when it ended, it was ok. Lots of glitches and bugs though, pretty much the usual fps experience so it got boring pretty quickly.
I'd give it 6/10.

I am enjoying it too, but might wait, as the hackers/cheaters have ruined 2 or 3 games for me.
BTW, i can not get on with the heavy machine gun for some reason. Too slow, i think
I just downloaded the demo to see how my rig would handle it .
