Run the Acer Aspire one Atom Netbook it only took an hour and got 174 points :)

PMSL -

I switched mine off at 35 mins and wrote it off as a bad job :D

Shall we all have a bash at SuperPi then seeing as the Setter-meister has kicked it off? :) Interesting to see how ours fair against the sandy's.....

Very nice andy 4.2GHz 990x -8377secs / me 920 4.515GHz - 9.070secs, just shows the difference the extra 2 cores make. :)

Yeah

That was benched at 5GHz mate (speedstep) 200 X 25 - clearly not a massively multithreaded app. Nuclearus used to be good but it skips the third block of tests - doesn't do 6 cores apparently.

Ah, when you check cpu-z multi it looks like - x12(12-25), l just took it as x12 multi.

yeah - cos its unlocked multi I think.

This is a good bench for multicore:

I'm in 5th place there with my old 970 Gulftown (although they have listed it as a 980X) Just ran the 990X at 4.610GHz (5GHz kept throttling at 100 degrees :D) so should jump me to 3rd place :D

^^ You ran the cpu at 100c ? wow

Run the Acer Aspire one Atom Netbook it only took an hour and got 174 points :)

Tested on a 5yr old rig to compare, Conroe at 2.8ghz

Video encoding: 811 seconds with 80% average CPU usage.
Video encoding: 1011 points.

Benchmarks finished.

Multitasking testing: 285 seconds with 87% average CPU usage.
Multitasking testing: 655 points.

Image editing: 713 seconds with 38% average CPU usage.
Image editing: 526 points.

Not sure what that'd make the collective score, it took half an hour to finish. Superpi is 21.9

^^ That test really shows it up, not sure if its as practical as the custom pc test but it shows the i7 six core is not only more then twice as fast but has 3 times as many cores for 7x the result.
Thats the kind of advance five years should bring tbh

Very good reading mate, thanks for sending it. But, ive been out on the beer all day. A very good friend of mine got back from afghanistan the other day, (he's in the irish guards). So we had a very good days drinking and catching up.

Thanks for posting what your memory was jeffy and oldphart, mine doesn't seem to like to post with normal volts at anything much over 1600mhz sadly.

Think highest iv had it was 1650ish @ 9,9,9,28, even when @ 10,10,10,30 it wont boot when at 1700mhz, this is with the normal 1.65v though, my mobo can overclock my memory via DCOP (know idea what it stands for lol), but i noticed it set the memory to 2v so i did'nt use that lol.

May have another fiddle tomorrow for the bench this time going for highest clock i can with decent memory speed/timings lol.

Oh and some Pi being done....yay gonna try that soon lol.

bifday2k, some very impressive clocks your running yourself mate, regarding memory. Im gonna try and bring my timings down a bit. My ram is ocz reaper 1600mhz, rated for 7-7-7-24. When i went to 4ghz on 20x200, i slackened the timings out to 9-9-9-27, as it's still basically running at stock at 21x200 im gonna try to lower the timings again, get what i paid for lol.:D
