Here's my 24/7 clock, may if bored later on push it some as temps are not an issue, temps in screenie where done with fans @ 700rpm..

Corsair HX850 have never checked as this PSU has a lot inreserve it got very good reviews, but saying that l'v used Corsair PSU'S in afew builds now, one went bang but it was a bad batch the hx620, it never put me of using them.

Same psu here mate, bought on members market. Gaming with the cpu at 4.0ghz and gpu's at 750/1500/1674, (stock voltage) draws 530w ono, prime uses 499w ono, prime and furmark together was drawing 866w and climbing, i stopped that pretty quickly lol.

Very nice bifday, heard very good things about the p6x58 de board, (a friend has one). Are you still on air cooling or did you go back to wc?

Still on water, the VX is still unopened lol.

Yeh the board is good, for its price anyways, i know i can get 4.5/4.6ghz outa it well SuperPI stable, will have to test if i can get those speeds stable enough for this bench though lol.

Just may need closer to 1.4 vcore/qpi though, and up the fan speed a touch lol.

Thats if im not lazy though.

I thought youd stick with your custom loop mate, (cant blame you tbh). 4,5/6ghz is only a dream for me on my current cooling, but tbh when i got this combo, 4.0ghz was my goal. Ran it on 21x193 for ages, ram undeclocked. Decided to go 20x200, took a little tweaking. Got greedy and wanted more, seen guys like jeffyb and oldphart posting up 4.3/4ghz screenys, i knew i coiuldnt go that far on air cooling. But, 4.2 seemed pretty reasonable, so i gave it a wee blast.

Yeh just been to lazy to take it out, so i'll keep the VX as back up, and not a bad back up to have either lol.

Yeh 4Ghz was my target too, managed it with nice volts, totally stable, and i don't even use all of its power, well not anymore these days.

That and im to lazy to re-tweak it for anything higher, could easily get 4.2/4.4ghz 24/7 just to lazy and well its not needed lol.

Yep, i was happy with 4ghz, (21x193) apparently the easy way, so i thought id go 20x200, took a lot more work, mainly vcore bumps. Got that sorted, but 4.2 was very alluring, i knew my cooling was good, my knowledge is a different matter. (i still class myself as a noob overclocker). just needed a bump on both vcore and qpi, still got to test it thoroughly yet. Im using 1.300v in bios, but the rig runs pretty cool, max of 78c in LinX, gaming gets to 67c on highest core, gpus at 70-69c, i thought about a sandybridge rig, but its not worth it, yes a higher clockspeed, but loose out on pcie bandwidth for multi gpu's. I know the difference is small, but to me it's still a loss.

You, others and me are very happy with the 920, did you have alook at my bios settings setter, they may help you out. The SB is very good chip but even if l was at 4.0GHz l would still not go to a SB.

Yup nothing wrong with the good old 920's, i don't fully utilse all its power anymore, so pointless going SB, i may even pass up Ivy Bridge next year and wait for the next generation after that lol.

Ive checked my mail mate, but nothing has come through yet? Any help is very much appreciated. But im hoping my current settings should be ok. Im gonna give it a good 8hr+ prime blend cook off over the weekend.

Not to bad I Suppose considering its AMD :p

They will just be the enthusiast versions of the current SB stuff, fast for sure, and with tripe/quad channel ram..

Personally im waiting for Ivy bridge, or later lol.
