The Division 2 - March 2019

Mine used to crash like yours and like you no other games crashed at all so doing a bit of trial and error i managed to get it stable by lowering my 9700K clocks to 4.7 and undervolting my 5700XT. Runs stable now.
I am running a 9700K with 16GB of ram all at stock without any issues but I am using a 2070S

Absolutely incensed....

Tried Roosevelt Island on leg again and this 1700+ moron will not fall back. Dies three times in 10 seconds but insists on trying to fight them, needless to say once one goes we all do. It's absolutely baffling.

Also the kind of guy that starts encounters without everyone being there, just running off.

I really don't want to have go down the Destiny route and use LFG but bloody hell, this is infuriating.

This double post thing is lame
I haven’t tried again since my successful run as it can take a bit of time to do.

was on last night with @V F doing the league stuff, I was on earlier doing the hs part of it and now left with 250 weak points to destroy.

the double post issue is very annoying but helps get your post levels up and an excuse lol

Do you have any overclocks? if so try removing them and running at stock to see if that helps.

All at stock, I was running PBO on my Ryzen but disabled that (never really made any difference in games).

I came across an article on Reddit earlier that has suggested disabling Windows 10’s full screen optimisation and DPI scaling set to application controlled. A few are having very positive results so will give that a go this evening.

Hope it sorts it for you.

I haven't had to do anything apart from installing the game and then loading it up.

this is the same on both systems I have (2200G\16GB\R9 390 8GB\Samsung 850 and I7 9700K\16GB\2070S\NVME)

want me to test anything? Does event viewer show anymore info on the crash?

Really enjoying Division 2, have just finished the New York expansion.

One super frustrating thing is that the game will randomly crash to the desktop, sometimes frozen in a window and sometimes just crashes completely. It’s the only game that does this, so no obvious issue with my system. I’ve tried different drivers, disabling all overlays, turned off DX12, full screen and borderless. Nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?

Running a 5700XT.

Check your Event Viewer in Windows, I guarantee you that you'll have a "ID: 4101 - display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." entry. UbiSoft have known about this bug since the beginning but are unable to rectify it so now just ignore anybody that reports it.

Many, many people have the same issue and I have a thread on the official forms that I keep bumping. I have gone through the absolute dire experience that is UbiSoft customer support on numerous occasions and still nothing gets fixed.

It won't show that error, my card is an AMD 5700 XT :) My graphics driver doesn't crash, event viewer occasionally shows (but not always) a fault within the Division executable which points to Direct X crashing:

Fault bucket 1780234448216694248, type 5
Event Name: D3DDRED2
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: VEN_1002
P2: 27.20.1027.2005
P3: 0x887A0006
P4: 7
P5: TheDivision2.exe
P6: 1.0.0.0

I'll see what happens since making those changes I listed above, fingers crossed :)

Yeah I've had to do this tonight. The fix I tried above made no difference, so I've switched it to DX11. Slightly lower performance but I'll take that if it means I get stability. Will see how that goes.
a lot of people had issues with DX12 enabled.

to be honest you dont loose too much performance with it off.

I'm surprised for a 1700 player. Let me guess? Was it the area with the snipers up on the roof of the plane fuselage, as all the choppers come down with 3 - 4 chungas...

I know, I'd expect better.

It was the encounter one or two after that actually. People seem to think if they have artillery turrets they're invulnerable but we had two and they were just too slow.

I remember doing a run with skill builds, it was horrible. I was the only dps. Skill builds are ok for distracting the aggro on Legendary but if a dps player goes down, the whole group is a wipe. Skills cannot kill them fast enough. The group quit. I've also lost count the amount that will quit so quickly expecting you to carry them.

I don't mind carrying people if they can get the aggro off of me. But when things start to go south, dogs running about spamming nades, controllers also whizzing about spamming nades, those females that spam the endless drones with no cool downs along with the grenadiers hiding somewhere spamming nades and a few sniper dogs. It's a blood bath.

Beep* Beep* Beeeeeep* Stagger, stagger, death and if you did manage to stay alive after multiple staggers trying to revive someone or running away from them being in a stupid place. Another drone comes in or some dude lasered you with an smg/ar or sniper with a slither of health. :D

DPS and a great Eclipse Protocol build, everything dies so fast. So many randoms I've ran with don't seem to grasp that the speed of killing is the key. Once 3 - 4 heavy gunners are approaching you, you'll bleed out faster than you can blink.

I've seen many times even on Heroic with directives in New York, the big heavy dudes with the shields/dart guns in The Tombs mission that they've ran/barged through other players to get to me. Any time I run Glass Cannon the AI feels like wild bulls seeing red sometimes with the heavies.

Kind of like this. https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/i9lcgv/we_thought_we_were_safe/

Getting the bug where I can't get to the SHD Cache in the Civic Center Sewers, the flamethrower 'boss' never drops the key and there's no way to get into the room. Anyone managed to get around this?

Had a similar issue happen to a friend of mine.

If I remember rightly, I think what we ended up doing was going into someone's world who already had the cache open, so he could just step through the already opened door.

Managed to sort it, changed the world difficulty, travelled to Washington and back to New York. Key was then in the lockbox next to the door you exit just before fighting the flamethrower dude.

God, this breaking weakpoints for the league thing is getting tiring now. Only need about 50 more to grab the exotic lootbox, but the bloody backpack trophy can **** right off.
Coney island Ballpark is the best place for it. Shooting the chain on the heavy in the second area.

Around 20 mins for 100 weakpoints.
