*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

To clarify, they'll copy the live character(s) to the PTS, but they'll never migrate any of your PTS characters, progress, gear, etc to the live game.

Some people have been whining that they won't get to keep their gear that they've worked so hard for in the PTS, obviously not quite understanding what the PTS is for...

yes sorry live sync'd to pts not the other way.

i cant think of a single pts that ever let you keep your progress to be honest.

How's everybody doing? The game's still alive here I see, with 73 pages worth of posts. Some new and returning folks too I see.

Hey dude! :D long time no see.

Main game is quite quiet at the moment due to the pts, but the hype is real for 1.4. Check out for ubi forums and patch notes for all the news but once 1.4 drops, you wont recognise the game lol

Also, pts will be available to you as you own the game :)

Same discord as always! Should pop on :) I'm still on every night, jumping between main game and pts for testing.

Yeah been following the PTS on YouTube a bit. Can't play now because my step up GPU came through and am awaiting delivery (takes forever; they're bringing it in on the back of a turtle he he). But yeah I'm good, thanks.

:-o you are still waiting for that? Wow! Hope it arrives soon!

Yep, took a quarter of a year! Should get it today... Need to get some clear sky and loads of underground done in the live game.

Anyway, happy you guys are okay and still here!

Things to note for 1.4 prep:

*BLIND collection as that will be Banshee in 1.4
*Firecrest is good in 1.4 now
*Predators is also good
*Nomad OP for HoK

Only things worth collecting are chests, masks and gloves as everything else is getting perf mod slots (not a retroactive change back to 1.3 migrated gear)

Save UG caches, DZ caches (especially green) to open after 1.4 drops

Save DT, DZ funds, Normal Credits and cap on PC.

That is my aim before it drops :)

Extra range and damage to fire turret, do more damage to on-fire targets, 3 extra incendiary grenades capacity - very cool.

What are the Firecrest changes as I'm pretty sure I still have four pieces of 268 somewhere.

Yeah its a pretty cool set to be honest considering the turrets got so much of a buff. Epic for PVE, but too easily countered in PVP now due to the health station buff as well (health and regen)

If those firecrest items aren't rolled yet, try not to roll them before 1.4 due to armour requirements.

I wonder what they will do tomorrow with PTS, they are planning phase 3 but no doubt it will come with a lot more changes (new DPS formula confirmed again). I just hope they reconsider the armour that currently isn't achievable - even with maximum rolls and armour on everything lol!! so stupid making an unachievable stat.

Been playing it for the past couple of days, I'm impressed, think I'll start playing it a bit more now seeing as I only have this and BF4 installed :p

Its nice! A lot more balanced and 10000% more rewarding in terms of missions/incursions and so on.

When is 1.4 going live?

I might try it but cba just on a test server

Should be this month. Tomorrow marks the start of phase 3 testing which is max rolled gear to test the top 1% RNG drops.

This was a major problem in 1.3 where you would have people who maybe don't know about LFG sites, or have no friends who play the game - getting left behind so to speak as they are unable to farm the hardest content quickly to get max stat gear.

So the gap between those players, and people who could do the hardest content was so amazingly massive - even though GS was the same, that it was like having lvl 33 vs lvl 35 NPC's for example.

Will be interesting, I think it will be balanced tbh.

Other than that, they have a lot more fixes to go into place, mainly banshee 4 pc, remove mg5 LMG, buff m1a again and SMG's, nerf LMG's a little bit more and lots of bug fixing that got introduced in phase 2.

Yep, I am finding that, had yellows and greens drop in the DZ from just random mobs, it's been good!

Takes some getting used to play with randomers though, but it was like that anyway! Not tried any missions or Incursions, either been in DZ or Underground.

Only problem with being away from it for so long is that I don't know what's good anymore, I mean my gear was never that good anyway, but with all the changes, I'm even more clueless now :p

Any advice I would give now would potentially be useless come tomorrow lol

But the same sort of concept applies (from my point of view) - get good armour (it wont be capped unless they change their formula) get enough firearms to unlock all talents (brutal is highest at 3823 FA) and put the rest into stamina for the time being.

The bog standard electronics value in 1.4 is the peak of skill performance and anything else is actually a wasted stat until they fix their SP curve. It relies on a level 0 electronics player - but in reality we have 2000 minimum in 1.4 so we see diminishing returns before we get a chance to spec in it.

In terms of gear:

Predators, Banshee, Firecrest, Nomad, Hunters Faith, Alphabridge are all good sets with good damage bonuses and talents.

Final Measure is now an amazing support build for incursions due to the Mortar and APC defusing.

Reclaimer is strong for support as well due to shared consumables.

Savage gloves, reckless chest, vig chest, robust chest are all good for HE stuff

Will have to have a fiddle with stuff then cause I've got nearly 6k stamina and less than 3k FA, so will have a play and sort that out.

Is there a list anywhere that says what stuff would be best on which piece of armor? Like I know you want armor on chest because you can get more on there than any other piece, or did I imagine that?

I'll look into the other sets though, would be good to run with you guys again cause you know what you're doing!

I mean it depends on the role you want to do, but by "just" unlocking weapon talents, I can still run solo in DZ6 and do CM missions and UG solo due to the reduced TTK.

Going pure tank is something I haven't tried yet though lol

You can roll armour onto:
Chest
Holster
Kneepads
Backpack

And then you can also have gear mods with + armour on them.

Chest and Holster are definite for armour, same as 1.3 as the minor talents aren't the greatest.

After that its up to you. For PVE content, max armour isn't necessary as its the same argument of being powerful enough to kill NPC's before they get a chance to shoot you, or being a bit more tanky in order to survive whilst killing them a bit slower.

I tried with armour on everything vs armour only on vest, holster and knees and I was fine with both.

PVP though - no clue. I haven't tried it properly in 1.4.

EDIT: The good thing about 1.4 is that everything is viable, and there are so many more things to test the gear on - ranging difficulties etc that are actually feasible.

Do you reckon it's best starting a new Alt and doing this or would it be alright to just mix and match as I go along with my current? It's not worth doing it on the PTS is it because things won't carry over from PTS to the main game.

I think I'll start with armor on just chest and holster and see where that takes me. I would like to be more DPS, as in taking less time to kill than being a tank and taking longer to kill.
