*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

bought this via the steam deal yesterday, went for the gold edition - runs worse in sli than with a single card. googled for a bit and looks like it's never been fixed in an official nvidia driver

really want to play this but can't deal with 40-50fps on a 100hz monitor and shouldn't have to really. it's choppy even with gsync.

before I ask for a refund via steam does anyone know of a workaround / sli profile to get it running as it should?

mine works fine 980ti sli

ultra +vsync to 60 and my cards rarely go over 60% usage and never have fps drops

Has anyone worked out some optimised graphics settings for this game please? The game sets ultra automatically but then sits at 40-50 fps, it doesnt seem to utilise SLI very well cause the cards are sitting at 60% usage so i need to drop some settings.

Im guessing some of you guys have messed around with the settings and figured out whats causing the big hits on FPS, cheers.

What res blud?

I can run ultra at 1440p, and it will use 80-90% of each card, but at 4k I can barely run low. Sits around 50fps at 4k but never drops below 60 at 1440p. Also doesn't utilise properly in terms of men usage.

There are a few settings that can be turned down without visual impact but cant remember off the top of my head. Will check tomorrow.

What does work quite well is using one card as main and another for physx. Gained 18-23fps at 4k with that, but temps go up then.

Yeah 4k m8, if i use medium i get 60 fps but high gets me about 50 fps and ultra about 40. I'll try sticking the second card onto physics, sounds like a good idea.

i like it.

drops are pretty regular, time to kill much better. open world tier 4 is solo-able without being boring run and blast.

i liked the changes but got bored of the delta errors and waiting so will let others beta test it and wait until the final version comes out :)

Yup I wanna play the new patch but not arsing around with PTS.

I didn't bother with CTE in BF4 no chance am I doing it on anything else.

only been on the PTS once and that was when it first came out.

whats everyone opinions of 1.4\PTS?

My thoughts (wall of text preventer lol)

Loot
Field proficiency caches for XP earned after level 30, roaming PVE bosses, Daily and weekly HVT's, all incursions, UG! Literally every single one of these is now rewarding and very worthwhile doing.

The thing out of all of them that has amazed me the most in terms of the complete change is the HVT's. Daily and Weekly are now amazing and the target intel is easier to get now.

In addition, crafting/combat/dark zone assignments that used to give like.....1 div tech and crap like that are now giving caches which contain HE/GS items and weapons.

Phase 1 was OTT in terms of loot drops, but phase 2 is pretty perfect.

Combat and Skills

With the lower TTK and higher TTBK, this now allows for different skills and talents to be utilised.

My Current favourites are 2 piece Nomad for the health on kill couple with talents such as on the move and tech support which assists with my support station that gives me quicker health regen.

All of the above - I have never run with the exception of tech support.

Skills and talents reworking now means that other things are very useful such as fire turrets, seeker mines due to explosion radius increase/damage increase and bleed in PVP.

Progression and gear
World tiers now allow for solo players or groups to make their way up the gear score ladder quite quickly but most importantly - comfortably within a relative range of difficulty as they have reduced the "heroic" difficulties to incursions only now.

You are never stuck not being able to complete content now.

In addition - the vendors are absolutely amazing, selling all sorts of amazing weapons and gear which is relevant. If you get a gs229 vest? It will never have worse stats than a 204 for example.

Slight negative

My only slight negative is that I think the game is a bit too easy now which may feel boring to some people.

From a solo perspective, I can solo the whole DZ comfortably including DZ6, challenge mode missions/underground/daily and weekly HVT's with the exception of the very top two weekly HVTs as I ran out of time, NPC difficulty didn't really affect anything even though it is scaled for 4 people.

That is on a reasonable build with good armour, but nothing min maxxed.

From a group perspective, the above activities are easy, and the heroic incursions don't promote team work anymore.

We did all three heroic incursions over the weekend and completed them without smart cover, good armour, good skills, or much communication with the exception of dragons nest (immuniser). Clear sky was just a runaround, falcon ended up being the same at some points, and dragons nest was just kiting the bosses.

However....what is good about the above is that doing matchmaking is 10000% more feasible now which is great.

My personal opinion

I love group activities, and I also love solo activities and now the solo activities are much more achievable.

In addition, now that more gear sets and HE items are useful, this has brought back my love of putting together different combinations etc so I dont have any doubt that I will get bored with 1.4 before the next DLC comes out.

I think it will bring a lot of players back, and I think they will enjoy it :)

If you load up PTS now your main characters get transferred and their gear modified to fit the 1.4 gear structure but it is very different. Armor for example will be significantly lower than 1.3.

If you want to test it quickly, would recommend waiting until phase 3 - they are giving away god roll gear(method tbc) to test a min maxxed build so that may be the easiest way to test it.

Ah ok.

What about stuff you unlock in PTS though, does it go back to the main game/account?

Yep everything in the PTS stays there. You can even spend all your credits/DZ funds/phoenix credits and so on and it wont affect your main game! :D

PTS char can get reset/resync'd with your live one at any point too.

To clarify, they'll copy the live character(s) to the PTS, but they'll never migrate any of your PTS characters, progress, gear, etc to the live game.

Some people have been whining that they won't get to keep their gear that they've worked so hard for in the PTS, obviously not quite understanding what the PTS is for...
