I'm really enjoying Survival even though rubbish at it

it reminds me a bit of the feeling of playing DayZ in the early days - except more intense

After spending the morning watching some videos on 1.4 and 1.5 I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things.
Picked up the season pass while it's on offer.

I remember people talking about the underground rave, impressed Super undergeared for what I'm doing but it's all good fun.
Think it's going to be awhile till i'm ready to touch survival. Is it likely to be faster to gear up using the underground or incursions?

Reconfigured my gear and now with some new mods I'm looking at 274/327/140 which seems to be decent enough, most of my gear apart from a 2 piece is all yellow.

Welcome to the yellow master race, well nearly anyway IMO matching gearsets are useless if the individual attributes are crap, I tried out a 3 alpha and 3 strikers the other day and it just didn't work out for me.

Good fun last night. My highest score so far:

As per usual, all my loot got sold Well except for a few guns (although ****, just want to try them out), I did get a beastly handcannon/shotgun sidearm though, iirc:

133k damage
brutal, deadly and destructive


Also, everyone keeps raving on about the MG5 and famas, don't know why as the ones I have got have been pretty **** compared to other guns of the same class i.e. for AR, my scar L, g36, police m4, ak47 are better than the famas and my M60 is considerably better than the MG 5.

Got a m700 tactical that was slightly better the other day but it looks like **** compared to the carbon so it got sold too

Nexus, that famas I have is crazy op. 25% reload speed, 64 bullets in mag, 950rpm, stability/crits with good talents- it chews through enemies every bullet hits as it's so easy to control the recoil.

Yup! I have a compensator which gives me a 13% stability boost, very nice indeed.

264k DPS (modded) AK47 with Brutal, Vicious and Predatory - yup I'll take that.

Survival is the nuts, except when twirly misses the extract because he is magpie-ing the extraction area after the hunter rush, only to nick a spot on another 4 man teams extract.

4 mins left and I ganked the other teams extraction after throwing a shock grenade on them. I doubt the shock did anything as it wasn't PVP.

I felt sorry for the guys spot I nicked.

We should have our own OCUK Survival Leaderboard, would be good for sorting out the men from the boys.

I had a decent g36 but got a scar-l, which I prefer for the higher damage per bullet, got a black market ak47 that does even more damage although iirc, the talents aren't as good so I'll probably keep to the scar for now...

Haven't really had any issue with stability/recoil with the AR's so I try to aim for all damage boosting stuff instead.

Aye the ones I have got, haven't had as good talents but ignoring the talents and weapon mods, the rest of the "base" gun doesn't seem as good as the other ones listed, at least the ones I have but then again, I usually prefer higher base damage over higher ROF

Under graphics settings iirc, near the bottom with lens flare, vignette etc.

Picked up 4 of those firearm mods with armour in DZ vendor 4 as well and whilst on way killing NPCs etc. I seemed to have got better luck with RNG rolls on the drops....

How my build looks now:

Would be nice to get a full striker set.

Only thing I don't think I will ever replace are my gloves (because of savage talent) and the backpack (because of 200% of firearms + stamina being added to skill power thus don't have to waste any stats on electronics)

I seem to be making a right balls up of re-rolling talents lately. Mainly because I can't seem to determine which ones are best to use. Could someone kindly tell me, using an Alpha Bridge build, which of the following two combinations would be the best choice for a PVE build?

Brutal, Deadly, Destructive / Uncomplicated, Unforgiving, Fierce

Or

Brutal, Deadly, Destructive / Swift, Uncomplicated, Vicious

I'm also assuming there's an Alpha-FAMAS bug, because my dps seems to vary wildly for no explicit reason, but only when using that weapon.

I am loving this game again. The 1.5 update in itself is good but really enjoying Survival DLC. Every game starts out OK then gets more and more tense the longer you are in game and the nearer you get to the dark zone and then when in dark zone, the closer you get to extraction.

Yes, you can get better loot return doing other stuff but it is a great side game which is awesome on your own or with others. Loving it
