*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

3 piece firecrest buffs the dps up massively due to the 100% reload speed so displays false stats..........for those who look at dps figures only.

The DPS on that would be roughly 250k-270k I believe, maybe even less tbh imo.

Solid build regardless in terms of toughness and skill, but whats the dmg on that primary?

Gamble is spot on, as usual :)

The DPS figures in this game are, at best, a rough guide.

However, the FireCrest reload does give a 24% damage boost in 'real terms'.

I worked out this before bothering with the reload perk as it seemed too much of a boost to be true or accurate.

As a firefight never last 1 second only, the sustained damage or up-time is more relevant, and this is where Firecrest gives you approx 24% more damage.

The boring maths part : :D

Base damage of G36 - 12,7k
Mag size 60
RPM 750
Base dps 262K

1 mag will last 4.8 secs = damage per clip 1257K
Reload 2.3 secs
Total damage over 7.1 secs = 177k/sec continuous

Same mag 4.8 secs = damage per clip 1257k
Reload 1.15 secs
Extra firing time of 1.15 secs = 301K
Total damage over 7.1 secs = 219k/sec continuous

24% more damage over time.

Apply the 24% extra damage boost to the base damage of 262K DPS and you get 325K DPS, where the game shows 313K DPS, so not too far out.

TLDR:

FireCrest boost in real terms ( any fight over 1 clip/magazine ) equates to 24% more damage on a G36

Disclaimer;

How this pans out over multiple magazine changes, i couldn't calculate - my brain imploded :D

I think its good in a way that not everything drops from everywhere.

Makes you do all the different content available in the game.

FL - Strikers/Sentrys/Tacticians with a lower chance of everything else
CS - Preds and Hunters faith mainly
DN - Alphabridge and Reclaimer
UG - Firecrest and Blind
DZ - everything inc Nomad

I like it like that.

i was just thinking about this at what dropped where so thanks for posting that :D

Think i wrapped my head around how they have calculated the DPS on Firecrest, and its surprisingly accurate tbh.

See my previous post for the first magazine damage calculations, which gave a single magazine boost of 24% damage output.

Applying this through to a point where it easier to compare ;

Normal reload speed 5 magazines = 35.5 seconds
F/Crest reload speed 6 magazines = 35.7 seconds

This now equates to a 19% damage increase, which puts the 'dps' at 312 ( 262k +19% ) and the game shows 313.

So over a more realistic encounter time, the dps shown in game is pretty accurate.

Personally I don't, because it forces players into activities they might not want to partake in or especially enjoy - a game should always be enjoyed, I feel. It's a 180 from what they said.

If I may make one correction to your droplist:

DN - DeadEye & Reclaimer
DZ - Final Measure & Nomad & AlphaBridge (+everything else)

I wonder though how so many prime YouTube guys get maxed out new sets barely after patch day... Conspiracy :p

The Underground has finally been giving me some decent upgrades (I'm only level 8 in it so far) with GS of 235.
The yellow caches I received I was ignoring (thought they were low yellows) then opened them up randomly and there was a bunch of greens inside? Got a really decent assault rifle and blind gloves 268 that have helped.
Floating around 200 DPS and 470 toughness.

Yeah, they come in thick and fast in the earlier levels. I was considering leveling an alt to 30 just so I could accumulate them all over again.

What's people's choice of shotgun?
Seem to work a lot better in the UG with it being such close quarters a lot of the time.

Best shotgun is arguably the SASG-12. Its got a magzine reload speed and a great rate of fire, combined with a great mag size.

Others would debate the super 90. Here's the full video:

Had a lovely 229 SASG drop - Accurate, stable, Destructive.

The SASG with Accurate is amazing as the shots are so tightly clumped, headshots do huge damage. It's kinda like a close range marksman rifle! run it with 4 piece Sentry for funz

except it does not, they said that. because all items have a chance to drop in all areas. but some items are more likely to drop in certain areas/tasks.

e: it was quintin that specifically said they did not want to force plays down a route. but there would be increased chances by doing X task.

I like this shotty of mine very much :D

Crappy attachments too as all my good ones on my g36 and m1a

EDIT:

Other talents are accuracy and talented.

Exactly the same for me, the grouping is mental - 8 Sentry's marks in one squeeze :D

Decided to chance it and roll Focused off of my G36 C. 6th roll gave me Fierce but left me unsatisfied. 7th roll gave me Brutal (and left me broke ha ha). Went from 265K DPS to 257K but it's so much better!! So that's Responsive / Accurate / Brutal.

As for shotguns; although I still haven't used it I picked up a 229 Black Market SASG-12 with nice talents on it (can't remember). Keeping that puppy in the stash.

Nice talents on that G36, I'm aiming for a good base damage roll with brutal, deadly and ferocious. Trying to roll one of my talents to destructive but after 4 rolls it's getting a bit expensive. Need to farm lexi heroic again for PC credits as I'm low on them again.

Really hope one day we can get the G36C blueprint.
