*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

Just noticed the sale. Im looking at getting Survival. Its the only one that really appeals to me, coop vs enviroment. The others seem to be all pvp.
Would i benefit getting the season pass, being a pve player far more than pvp?

Will getting the season pass get me more dlc in the future? Or does that only include the three current dlc's?

the season pass is just those 3 DLCs.. afaik

and for pve stuff there is survival and underground, if your going to get both then you may aswell get the season pass

...
Main point of this SOTG - was them apologising and stating over and over not to consider last week was not a y2 announcement.

Lets see what they come out with.

Personally I think the damage is done and the communication has been poor. I feel people were looking for more substantive content for TD, something akin to Rise of Iron or The Taken King for Destiny. So more story missions, map expansion, more game modes, general improvements for example. And even this SOTG confirms there will be no more story content.

One news story that seems to have slipped through the net is that Ubisoft did confirm on a recent Financial Call that one of their tripple AAA releases for the 2017 financial year was cancelled (Eurogamer reported: 'Ubisoft said it had another triple-A game lined up for the coming financial year but this will now be replaced by continued support for an existing, well-performing live game...'). They only have 4 releases for this financial year so it's very likely this was a planned expansion for TD.

It is also highly probable that they have been working on the sequel since the first game released. However for me there needs to be a balance between diverting most of your resources away onto a sequel and supporting your existing release with regular new content, particurly when they are looking towards more of a GaaS model.

I have generally really enjoyed the game and think it does some things really well, but I have become burnt out grinding the same old content. I am sad that they have choosen not to do more with the first game.

PS. The EG news story is a bit lazy and whilst I posted it elsewhere I'm not sure if it's already been raised here.

It's a graph which tells a story, the game was doomed 3 months after release. The time since then has been spent re-arranging deck chairs on the titanic waiting for the ship to ultimately sink into history. after watch dogs 2 I am hopeful that the sequel to this game will be good. I count the money I spent on this first game as an advance on such a sequels development costs.

yeah the playerbase shrunk by over 90% by the end of September / beginning of October, nothing new there. worth noting however that the playerbase was still larger than WD2's was a month after it's release lol

Why, you dont feel you got your money's worth?

finally beat my score! :D
and what a fun game that was, almost got all HE gear, took down 3 bosses.. but that ending, finished my hunter and waited for the chopper.. got to less than 5 seconds to land and 2 more hunters spawn in! managed to get to safety and pick them off but it was real close and i saw no sign of the players who made those hunters spawn in either...
think i got about 5 survival caches and not 1 exotic

Nice one man :)

Playing PvP Survival last time with Gamble and a couple of others and we saw a 3-man team go for the extract in the DZ so we rolled up, let our Hunters spawn then legged it and left them to deal with the ensuing *********. They died :D

Super fun tbh!

Bryant Park seems to be the extraction of choice at the moment. Lots of cover and overwatch from the balcony so it makes sense. Had a good run with FEAR, Gamble and Mario last night on PVP survival. Other agents were dropping like flies, and mostly not by our doing either.

oh im not brave enough to try the pvp one yet :p
its bad enough dealing with the people in pve who run in and steal your loot

had some guy do that the other day.. he sat and watched me take on a group of enemies and then when i was on the last one he ran in and hoovered all my loot
so i followed him for a while and did the same thing to him.. found him again at extraction.. he went down fighting his hunter.. so i picked his hunter off, ran upto him and watched him bleed out while dancing around him
felt good :D

Not really, I stopped at 20% game completion and was waiting to a reason to plough time into the game. I don't mind grinding gear as long as there is a purpose to it. They spent so long trying to fix the core mechanics of the game that there is little additional PVE content - as it stands.

That is why I am monitoring the thread, if they announce a whole year worth of paid updates for PVE additions I will jump back in.

If you've not completed 80% of the existing content then I don't see the point!

There is definitely something im missing here. I went down the road of getting my toughnes up really high but now want to try getting my DPS up instead What stats on gun enhancments increase my primary DPS? I've been making mods for ages but cant seem to get my dps up. Are there no blueprints to buy other than the ones in the main base? They used to be in the DZ. I have not found a new blueprint as a drop/reward since I started playing again, not even in the cases you get for competing certain goals. The blueprints for sale at vendors seem to be odd. They higher the power i.e. 34 cost less than the lower power versions, which to me is just strange.

My second try at survival was thrilling stuff. Got into the DZ with not a great deal, managed to pick up someone elses loot which was full of gold items and about 8 or more loot crates. Ended up getting very lucky with 4 other people coming on the scene to deal with the hunters. Died and got rezed about 4 times. Then could not get the heli, the door closes on one side, so i stood there and shot it a bit out of frustration. I ran around to the other and just managed to get in with a second to spare. Nearly had a heart attack.

Great game really having a lot of fun again.

Blueprints don't drop, they can only be bought with Bird Bux from the Terminal.

For more DPS, although the way the Division calculates it can be weird you want things like Deadly, Fierce, Vicious, Destructive and some others, although higher RPM weapons and things like Accurate and Balanced can also make the figures seem artificially high.

So I could have a sniper rifile that shows as having 500000 primary dps and one that shows 400000 primary dps. The one that shows 400000 could be doing more damage per shot than the high dps version?

Yep. The higher dps value usually indicates that the rifle has a higher rate of fire, not damage per shot. When in doubt, I've found the best thing to do is to test them on the range.
