What are the CHD, etc abbreviations? I'd post my gear but it's embarassing..

Chc = critical bit chance
Chd = critical hit damage
Hsd = headshot
Ead = enemy armour damage
Dte = damage to elites
Hok = health on kill
Ooc = out of cover
Edr = exotic damage resilience
Pfe = protection from elites

:)

Quick question on the builds being posted, what is the deal with armour now? When I stopped playing, you had to roll armour on 3 pieces IIRC and you pretty much hit the cap (give or take) I swear 1800ish on a vest was a high roll, now I see 3K?! Did they change the scaling?

Had a play in the 1-14 DZ bracket last night @14, was quite funny going on manhunt with budget gear. Eventually, we ran into some tryhards who were DZ rank ~80 and had obviously been farming the bracket for a long time. I can kind of see the attraction though, limited skills and maxed purple gear vs the rest of the DZ inevitably using blues/greens.

Applied some firearms mods with armour

You got firearm with armour mods?! :mad: I have been grinding and crafting like a mad man for those and no damn luck!!!! :p :(

Saying that I did pick up a few stamina with armour mods last night so might re-work a stam gear piece to firearms and equip those stam mods with armour instead.

EDIT: DX12 is being removed as well

WHAT?!

WHY?!

DX 12 made the game so much smoother for me. The only problem was if I alt tabbed out of the game, it would hang so I had to reset the PC.

Armour now scales down with world tier, you can have capped armour on t1, move up to T2 & your armour will be down to about 60%, T3 50%, T4 40%, current top level (GS229) chest armour has approx 1300-1500 armour native, & you can roll approx 1k-1.2k armour as major attrib, giving 2500-2700 armour total, anything higher than that probably means they have a mod or 2 with armour on it, 3k chest armour unmodded will come with 1.5 & T5 bracket, highest I personally saw had over 3100 armour on the PTS.

Armour cap in wt4 is now 70% but the absolute max you can get is just under 61% and that is based on:

Max native armour roll on all pieces
Max additional armour roll on the following pieces

  • Chest
  • Knees
  • Backpack
  • Holster
In addition, armour would need to be rolled on all 5 gear mod slots and be maxxed.

They have changed the formula though which is your question so the rolls are much higher on wt4 gear, and in addition, you get all three stats on every piece but a reduced amount of the minors.

Example, roll a piece towards firearms for 1008, and get 125 stamina and electronics at the same time.

This is being pushed further in wt5 in 1.5 - everything goes higher but the armour formula is harsher once again meaning the highest will be 55.7% possible max armour.

ofc you could use robust and sturdy for your chest and holster to get 70% but it isnt needed.

One of the senior devs said they are considering changes in how armour works as currently there is no build diversity.

tldr:
Yes scaling changed, max armour rolls are higher but it equates to less armour than in 1.3 due to a changed formula.

Wouldnt go nuts on the mods, we get ilvl 34 mods with 1.5 tuesday, save electronics for that, ofc theyre not guaranteed to be on the vendor tho.

Too late for that :( :o :p

Crafted about 30+ a few weeks ago and only got 1 low firearm mod with +200 armour....

Not going to waste any more future resources on crafting, just too much RNG to it, better of playing the game and hoping you get lucky with the loot instead.

holy **** man.......

*rubs salt* I crafted 10 FA mods when i first got the BP, got 7, sold 2 as I got better ones in the other 5 :P

But definitely just focus on drops if RNG hates you that much, they appear quite often doing boss runs etc.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT to you and your firearm mods!!!!! :p

The worst thing is that I have about 3-4 electronic mods with armour....

Told you, I have the worst RNG luck in this damn game! :D

Vendors are OK but are generally lower rolls. At least there is a vendor reset resource now to have a quick check which is awesome.

in 1.5 I will definitely be checking the vendors for lvl 34 rolls though as an initial boost!!

Another option is the DZ, takes less than 30 minutes in the DZ to get enough divtech either by looting or extracting purple caches to craft another 10 anyway.

UG in DZ6 wll fill your loot bag with purple caches in one go considering no one picks them up anymore! lol

Thanks for the info guys! So in summary:

- Armour is still a must roll
- Higher rolls, to offset the fact that armour scales as you go up WT
- Additional WT in 1.5 so another iteration against armour scaling
- Armour cap is not realistically achievable, hence why people are sat at around 50-60%

100% :)

I can't get into this at the mo with knowing that 1.5 will drop Tuesday. Any real reason to play or should I still sit it out till then?
