The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I played morrowind for 2 years straight with food, sleep, and school / uni in between :p

Beat that.

Do Asda deliver by release day?

I still find it hard to believe that they could possibly top the immersion aspect of Morrowind. By today's standards the graphics are not all that but that game sucked me in so much... I remember being astounded by Seyda Neen and the first time I saw a Silt Strider. The first dwemer ruins I went into put me on edge too. :D

At the time those were best water effects I'd ever seen and the most gorgeous skies too. I suppose when you've been bowled over like that, it's going to be hard to be impressed by subsequent games so much.

Pretty much sums up my feelings. So much thought had gone into that game - I used to love going into the various mines and balancing the various guild quests to try and top all the guilds.

The water effects were supreme and every time the lightning would go off it would give me a fright :p

The night sky was stunning to.

<3 Morrowind, so many happy hours! I agree, the game feels like a real labour of love with tonnes of thought going into every detail. Oblivion was a bit meh, especially with the repetitive hellgate thingies. ;)

I'll give Skyrim a chance though. :)

carefull guys, dont jump the bandwaggon like bf3..

wait till its released to see if its as good as they say it is.

a lot of people on 4chan are saying the games pretty crap, from what they saw on live streams.

I will wait to make judgement, but it is hardly surprising that it looked rubbish given that it was on the Xbox and streamed in pretty shocking quality. I thought the environments (conceptually) looked stunning.

Ordered the PS3 version with the discount code for a smidgin over £30, job done :)

After consideration, my current laptop is likely to curl up into a ball and implode trying to run this and I decided it wasn't worth £600 to get an XPS for one game.

I upgrade my lappy every 12-18 months so will probably pick this up on PC then esp as it will be on 2 for £10 by then lol :D

It's an Elder Scrolls game, we pretty much already know what we're going to get ;) With me and these sort of games, watching anyone else play would be rubbish, it's about getting involved with your character, immersed in the story, and developing your stats/skills as you progress.

Besides, 4chan=drama queens ;)

awww man I think I might swap my pre-order to Asda then. The only thing I am concerned with though is..... WILL I GET MY BURLAP MAP !!! with them ?

The pre order map is in everysingle pre order box packaged by bethesda, so it will be available on all pre ordered copies.

Its also not burlap, or cloth, or leather - its a 'Physical premium map' made from higher quality paper with a similar texture and feel to Burlap.

It will still be heavily folded.

Asda say it wont be delivered until the 11th, which sounds ambiguous - do they post it for arrival on the 11th, or post it on the 11th? Either way I'll keep my £24 order from simply games who guarantee arrival by release day.

Does this mean that there will be an oversupply of the pre-order stock meaning come release day, some of the pre-order stock will be sold first to clear it out then the regular stock?

Or is the pre-order stock limited and stores may run out or have run out?

o.O ...

Adsa, with 20% code. Have a look at hotukdeals for details.

Nice one! I was about to order from my usual place for £29.99, they always deliver on or before release date so I don't usually mind paying a bit extra, I'm afraid though that my loyalty as a customer goes straight out the window when it's 3/4 of a tenner price difference.

what do you expect from a guy who gets a pirate copy of a console version! I can't stand and don't listen to people who make/play pirated games. I prefer to read the reviews of many people, and the news updates about the up coming features and form my own opinions!
