The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Just ordered Skyrim on Steam, and have it installed and ready to go - I wanted the box, but I also wanted to play at release and not a few days later, like I had to with BF3 due to postal delays.

My only concern at the moment, is that last Monday I had an eye test and was told I would need glasses. They're not ready for collection yet, and after spending a few hours on the PC, things get fuzzy and I get a headache.

I intend on spending several hours playing Skyrim in one session. So, my concern... Where, oh where, are my glasses?!

Hmmm, still snagged it anyway. :D Will give me a good amount of time to explore the majority of it without any clues.

I went for the 8 day option :) - will till work out cheaper than buying it from GAME on Friday!

Can't wait for this! Expecting the box tomorrow (shopto, no problems here), but dont get home til 4 to check :(

Thinking of dual swords here (or maybe a sheild) :D

I was very sneaky in Oblivion, i actually found the stealth aspects of the game very enjoyable, especially clearing out dungeons one enemy at a time, the quest where you go to Crowhaven(i think) was a good one, the one for the gut in the Arena.

I generally don't use much magic either, though i did on my last playthrough.

My character will most likely be archery with a bit in sword.

i always like a stealth bow/poison guy but the main quest is pretty much frontal assault or nothing in oblivion and most games, and i'm guessing this will be the same. :(

Go archery/1h/sneak/lockpicking/light armor then 1-2 more skills of your choosing.

Daggers for sneak attacks, swords for melee, archery for dragons while they're airbourne or stuff that is too tough.

Exactly my plan, still debating on using conjuration for bound daggers and bow (i think bound bows use bound arrows too which is pretty neat.)

EDIT - wont be very durable, plan is just to use the dragon shout that stuns enemies and then double power attack them into submission.

So i might get the guide from Game for £18, any better deals?

edit- actually i shall go in to town to get it i think, do you reckon it will be available to buy tomorrow?

Hmmmmm, I still have proxycap installed if I can remember how to use it. In which part of the world is it 00.00 the earliest? :p

Depends on if it arrives tommorrow though, but it should.

I used it to unlock Civ V early ages ago and its still installed tempting me to use it again.

which in oblivion would have you raped instantly in nearly all the main quest missions.

Dunno as this is pretty much what I chose lol! The hardest parts for me started at around level 10 where the oblivion gate towers had packs of 3 kynvals which took 8 arrows each to put down :s you can offset the damage if you mess with enchanting ASAP though as the first sigil stone enchant can give a bow easily double it's normal damage and as long as you keep the weapons enchant going you can do some great damage, especially with sneak and poison added to that mix. The game got very easy when I found a glass bow and enchanted it with 25 fire damage per strike, right until then last battle where I was forced to lower the difficulty from normal as it just wasn't possible. The game is horribly balanced for such characters, but that kinda made it more fund at the same time lol. Most of the quests on the shivering isles though suit that sort of character perfectly as you can use stealth on pretty much every single mission there.

Fortunately this isnt Oblivion eh?

Its just horribly balanced in general, the leveling system in Oblivion is the worst ive seen in any game, I still really enjoyed it at launch though. :D
