The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Can be turned off, as I found out tonight.

Friend came over and logged in with his steam account on my PC, and somehow merged our saves.

Couldn't really control the syncing, or what was syncing to where...!

It saves them to the same location. Dunno about it deleting other save files but if you're only relying on Quick/Auto then yeah you'd be royally screwed.

In usual TES style my new Mage is levelling up far too fast to begin with. I'm already at lvl10 and all I've done is beat the first dragon and clear a couple of bandit camps so I'm already getting higher level foes that slaughter me.

You can't help but laugh at how slow Destruction/Restoration increase. By the end of the tutorial section my Destruction was still 15 while One-Handed had increased to 19, despite using both fairly evenly. I'm only at 25 with it now. Gonna have to start bankrupting myself by going to the College and paying for training every level. Alteration, Illusion and Conjuration barely even take effort to raise.

I see my savegames got stored here:
C:\Users\Topdog\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

So best bet I suppose is to create a new Windows user if you have anyone come over and login to Steam on your machine.

Aside from quicksave / autosave, all the others should have your character name in the Save filename though, so you might be able to filter his out by locating and trashing his that way.

Now thats paranoia :D

It was my own fault for not checking GSM had backed them up since I did it using individual files for each game. The 2 main ones probably had 30-50 hours each on them, rest of the time (115 hours total) is shared between my first mage and an illusionist I made for a laugh.

If you want I could stick a game save from my moderately well-trained illusion mage up somewhere for ya?

She's a bit of a squishy dark elf, but getting towards glass armour now (not abusing smithing/enchanting) so makes for a challenging game on Expert.

Meh, no need really. I was only lvl10-15 or something on Master, didn't take long. For now I'm just playing a mage. In the future I might try it again, though I'll ease off on the Fury spam and try to sneak a bit more. It was hilarious doing one of the early thieves guild missions where you go to the honey supplier and having 6 mercs fighting amongst themselves, though a tad broken.

Quick question: A couple of times I've killed a dragon in town and then immediately been arrested by the guards - ungrateful beggars! I'm assuming this is because I probably hit somebody with arrow while fighting? Or is this a known bug?

Not a bug, if you accidentally shoot someone you'll have to pay the price.

Andi.

Consider yourself lucky. I normally get attacked by the ***** if one of the idiots walks in front of me while I'm attacking. So stupid when you're having an epic 10 minute battle with a Dragon then some ****ing guard walks in front of you as you use Fus and suddenly you're public enemy number one.

I learned the hard way that using Storm Call is not a good idea if there are any friendly characters nearby. Let's just say they won't remain so for long... :(

Really lowers the usefulness of the power to have to be so careful when you use it.

Amazing, you can actually go to the very east border of skyrim from forelhost, unblock the invisible game wall, and do a flythrough of morrowind, cyrodiil, vardenfell, specific mountains and landmarks.
