The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I started playing Skyrim when it came out...
After a few hours, I got out of the city, night time, no guards, made sure no one was around, stole the horse (stationed right outside the gates) and rode into the night...
5 minutes later, in the middle of nowhere, I get surrounded by guards accusing me of theft. Oh, **** off ! Alt+F4 and uninstalled the game. I'm supposed to cheat the game, not vice versa.

Are you sure there was no-one around - did you go into sneak mode to verify that you were hidden?

Tbh, I can't remember if I used sneak mode but there was definitely no one around. The only other explanation would be - horse had a tracker device attached...
Altho I found the game interesting, very nice graphics, I can't really ignore stupid things like that.

Alternatively, just type it properly and leave it to the filter? ><

Unless you're trying to type rap with added c. Who the hell is the care bear responsible for filtering that?

Maybe the guards used GPS chips to track the horse? :p

What in the name of GOD has happened to all my progress?!?!?!

I was level 47 last night, turned it on this morning and im now back to level 9????? :mad:

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,

I just can't get back into this!!!!!

I have tried 3 different times now, but since loosing all my saves, I get bored around 5 hours into any character I play :(

I am forcing my self down one path of play style each time. Really need to break the habit. But I'm scared of becoming a jack of all trades and master of none!

Basically, had hundreds of hours on my 360, then finally got round to building my rig. But still struggling to get passed the 10 hours play mark on any character. Just get so bored!!!!

Any ideas guys? I really have no idea how to liven this game up for me... How versatile can you be without being under powered? Like I made a pretty bog standard char again last night. One handed, with destruction in the left hand. Heavy armor... Still got pretty much raped by the first dragon.

I used to play sneak on the 360. Tried to re create the character on PC... Nope, bored of that now. Want something a little fast paced. Then played a 2h orc, which just slaughtered anything with ease. Maybe just play the game how I feel depending upon the situation? But I'm scared to do this, simply because it will result in me being weak :(

Just looks boring though... Spells look over the top and don't laugh, but surely you don't look all that great in your kit at the end either? I dabbled in a mage, but not enough.

I preferred the mage kit in the end - I'd played as a heavy-armoured two-hander and a light-armoured sword & shield so it made a nice change :p Pretty satisfying to blast things away with lightning bolts - well worth giving it a go I think. I played as an Altmer when I was running through as a mage - only one of my run-throughs where I actually finished the main quest too.

Well done at missing out on one of the greatest games ever made.

Magic in the vanilla game was lacking I felt. At least, the Destruction side of it was anyway. You could laugh at the first 2 tiers of enemies (eg Draugr and Restless Draugr), but the 3rd tier was a massive leap (eg. Draugr Scourge) and it didn't get much easier above that. Your spells were just too weak or too expensive and basically every fight turned into you dual spamming Firebolt for the lowest mana cost that gave a knockback effect with Impact.

Illusion was truly hilarious but unless you perked it up to the max it was useless.

This was my feeling, so many something like a spell sword/mage with light armour?

True - I used a mod before playing as a magic user to scale the strength of spells. I think it's called (imaginatively) "balanced magic" - it's on Nexus.

To the ones talking about mages, get Midas Magic, it lets you do all sorts, from ice-spray attacks to shooting bee's at enemies and tangling them in vines!
