The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Use steam workshop for as much as you can it updates just fine.
As for the NMM, I am the same as you. Ive had to restart due to bugged or broken saves so many times its just not worth updating.

Couldn't agree more, it's really not worth the hassle, and I haven't upgraded one single mod since I started 3rd play through. Three crashes in 1 month, which is good going as far as Skyrim is concerned, and each of those I think was due to ugrids.

'Amazing Follower Tweaks' is such a great mod, made me properly utilize followers now, I used to be complete solo.

Sadly though;

"Skyrim is for the Nords!" - Lydia

Shame, was gonna wife dat hoe. Cut her head off instead.

I just make her wear a dress and cook for me at breezholme.
Apart from the fact she accuses me of stealing stuff its all good.

Had to stop playing this....

For some reason my game constantly has a breif 2-3 second freeze every minute or so. Sound keeps playing, but frozen screen. Seems to be triggered by changing weapons aswell.

I have tried uninstalling, deleting all files, reinstalling, with mods, without mods and the problem still persists.

Even Vanilla and no mods with all graphics turned low still does it. I havent got a clue what it could be!
When you say even with vanilla on low it still does it, is this with a 300 hour save game or when starting a new game from scratch?

Skyrim suffers from massive save game bloat and save game script errors.
If you had "boobies and cakes mod" installed at some point it will have scripts triggering in your save. Even if you have de-installed the mod this could be occuring and easily the cause of stuttering or crashes. There is a way of doing a "clean" save but it doesnt always work.

The save file for a new game is about 3MB. This creeps up slowly and slowly as you play. At around the 12-15MB mark there have been reports of stutter. This is normaly >100 hours of playtime though. The more mods you use, the more potential script conflicts you get and the larger your save file gets.

I have a random question. Whats the crack with horses? Do they stay where you left them or always go back to the place you originally bought them. I leave mine outside the stables in riften, and then when I come back out, it's done one, back to Whiterun stables, and is always waiting there.

Not into that, I ended up marrying Uthgerd in the end back on the Xbox because her, Mjoll and Aela are the only women I've encountered that are cool as hell and can actually handle themselves, not really into all that pretty barbie doll type wife nonsense when it comes to Skyrizzle. I remember almost throwing my Xbox controller at my laptop when I read you couldn't romance Avaline in DA2. :p

Sounds a bit harsh

She's racist man, Hrisskaar doesn't roll like that. Hes a real brother, a chocolate Nord. :p

There is a mod that gives you a whistle (as in wit woo kinda whistle, not one of those weird blowy things) - a thu'um I think, that instantly spawns your horse behind you. You should try it, it's on the Skyrim Workshop on Steam.

Horses that run home are considered 'stolen' not 'owned'. Quoted because I recall a bug whereby if you had more than one horse (say bought + Frost, bought + Shadowmere), then hopping from one to the other would bug it out somehow and cause one of them to behave as if it was stolen/reset and keep going home again. So something along those lines, or maybe even stealing a random horse somewhere temporarily / by accident may have done it.

Yes, I had the same problem. The animals are like statues and bob up and down like they are on a pogo stick. Mine went away a while back. The only things I've done that may or may not have affected it are deleting skyrim monster mod, and dropping the refresh rate of my monitor.

I had a problem with items flying around the screen when I walked into a room, which I googled and found to be related to very high fps of 100+

Since doing those two things, the problem seems to have gone away.

Yeah dont turn v sync off in this game it causes the games engine to go nuts. Thats what i've read anyway.

Thanks for your help, I will have a play around and see what happens.

Yeh my save is around 150 hours.

I did have a look at my save game files which were around 20mb+

How would I go about doing a clean save?

I am playing through, AGAIN! I have only just started playing. In the Shimmerest Grotto with those stupidly hard bug things, all 3 of them. Wiped 2 of them, almost got the 3rd then it lunged at me like a crazed cocaine addict... Died :(

Playing a archer. Enjoying it!

I guess if I run the game through the skse file it will still keep all my graphics settings and mods I have in Steam?

The SKSE.exe runs your TESV.exe almost instantly afterwards. Your TESV.exe will read your steam.dll which will be exactly the same as running the actual TESV.exe standalone in terms of Steam interaction. All of them are like it except Oblivion which has the SKSE automatically launch with the standard launcher.

If you could just install and uninstall mods without borking the game it would probably be the most perfect rpg on the planet. The golden, and most stress free rule. Once you've got the mod on, if you dont like it, dont save. Once you start saving and stuff, its a never ending headache.
