The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

That would be fine imo.

Would there still be room to do some cool stuff like learning to craft armour or weapons? I suppose i'm after a lot :p

Magic doesn't really interest me, except maybe to heal. I can picture the kinda guy I want to create.. He's pretty cool. Maybe a bit like a ranger/traveller type guy who can look after himself :p

Yes. One huge part of skyrim people tend to disregard is money. Become your own mini business.

Buy up ingots and mine ore. Forge steel armour. Enchant it, and sell it for a profit. you'll level up smithing, speech, and enchanting all at the same time.

Decided, I am going to make a heavy orc haha, I played this style shortly before on my 360, LOVED IT! Just utter rampage on anything and everything!

However, got bored fairly quickly after swinging my 2h sword was all about I could do, so anyone got any ideas on how to spice that class up?

Well hats off again to Bethesda for yet another cracking game whatever you may think of it you certainly get your moneys worth in terms of content and game length. The biggest disappointment for me so far is why oh why did they remove the ability to create custom spells?? I loved that feature in Oblivion and it's removal doesn't really encourage me to want to create a mage character for my 2nd time around.

I've got a number of visual mods going for this
- High resolution texture pack (unofficial HD pack)
- Improved skys
- Improved lighting and Fx
- Improved flora

With all this running and at max settings, 1920x1200, I'm still getting 60 fps on my GTX670 2Gb and even though when walking about towns the video ram usage shoots up performance doesn't drop off.

My vram usage used to go crazy when I walked into Riften. Noticed my old 580 continually going up to 1510MB.

Upgraded to a new 3GB card, and saw it peak at 1900MB in exactly the same settings. I have no idea why it didn't crash before, or what was going on.

The texture mods eat up the video memory but I'm sure a lot of that must be buffering what it's strange for a modern game my GTX670 is only running at 50% usage (even when modded) the game seems to love the CPU which is very unusual.

Sigh...just when I start playing the game again(and enjoying it) I get smacked in the face with a gamebreaking vanilla bug which there is absolutely no fix for(and has apparently been around for ages!)

Been using this character for over 120 hours as well(has to be over a year old:()...I was gonna use him for Dragonborn too.

Gonna have to hope that console commands don't ****up my game.

So, yesterday i finished the main quest. I've also done just about all the other side quests, apart from a few companion missions (Kill the animal in XX house) and some dark brotherhood ones (Approach the Night Mother) - there are a few others, but just random miscellaneous things.

Just shy of level 63 now. 229.5 Hours in to it!

Time to play Dawnguard. :D

what a really good game this is, I've got loads to learn, see and do as i'm only level 7 at the moment but enjoyed it a lot so far... Very good looking game once you get a few mods installed.

Looking forward to seeing what else this game offers, done 10 hours so far and seen hardly anything of what this game has to offer..

got some shouts, done some quests, killed two dragons so far, loving the whole game at the moment.

I loved this game when I first got it on release but stopped playing after a realised that after 60 hours I was only on the third story mission lol.
Want to play again but do you think it's worth starting fresh? As I can't remember where I was or what I was doing.

Absolutely loving the game. Running a few simple mods including the better weather effects (name?), Lanterns of Skyrim and the fuller trees and more birds etc. Fairly superficial and hasn't affected my game.

If I were to get the official HD textures pack on my spec below do you think I'd get significant slowdown? I'm aware my card is beginning to age now. Waiting for 8000 series really.

If I do get a bad affect is it easy to uninstall?

Cheers :)

On a 5850 yeah it will max your Vram right out

I'm currently playing with the HD texture pack at 1080P on a GTX 480 and Afterburner states Vram usage in game hovers between 1200Mb and 1450Mb, had a few times it's pipped the 1500Mb mark but not often.

If your game is stuttering at all even slightly anywhere, or you load a new area and you get major fps drop then it is the vram, you havent got enough.
