The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I'm the same with the whole attention thing. Brought deus ex and only played it for 20mins and havnt played it since. HOWEVER recently brought oblivion GOTY and fallout 3 GOTY and they're the only kind of single player games that seem to suck me in.

Best thing about these games are when i finish work i can sit down, do a quest that takes about a hour to do then save and carry on the next day. Each quest is a EPIC little mission of certain death and reward :D

:D I fully agree with you there.

I haven't pre-ordered it yet, but I'll do so next month.

Kind regards,

David

Well I've been convinced enough by the trailers to give this a pre-order, I really didn't get on with Oblivion as well as I expected to, I know it was a good game but the combat just never felt right to me. Combine that with some really hokey spell mechanics and I couldn't play it for more than an hour or so without getting annoyed.

I'm still not a fan of the levelling (both base level and skill level) system, I think it's a bit of a ham fisted way of forcing people into areas of the game they didn't want to play but the sexiness of the scenery and graphics in general combined with an improved combat system mean I'm more excited about this than I thought I'd be.

It's still no D3 though!

I was thinking about RPG's earlier and why I consider myself a fan of them.

Does anyone actually enjoy the dialogue and whole "decision making" thing Bioware in particular seem so interested in? I don't think I do tbh.

I think what makes them so fun is the whole open world thing, the exploration, character customisation and collecting money/resources. For example in Read Dead Redemption I enjoyed hunting animals and selling the pelts more than doing the main quests :p

I guess that's why I liked fallout 3 so much and why I have such high hopes for this game.

I am one of the RPG fans were as i love to explore get new equipment explore the storyline and just do whatever i so please im not really a big fan of RPG's that is heavily scripted and forces you to do certain things.

Really could not be bothered with the 3 hour queue for the bethseda booth at gamefest. Did anyone check it out?

Yeah - walked right to the front with a press pass :p

It's Oblivion 2 - I'll let you decide whether that's good or bad. I thought the combat felt a little more chunky and satisfying and the levels of detail were much improved. I rode horse, walked about a village, explored a cave, killed some bandits and hunted rabbits. All it all i'm quite excited :)

I just can't seem to build any excitement for this game.

I'll get it and may enjoy it but it's not at the top of my list of what to get. :(

Strange, seen as how morrowind is one of my favourite games...

Since OcUK are doing a pre-order, anyone who lists any other place is looking for a ban...

M

not according to the rules at the top of the page....

1. Amazon and places like these etailers/retailers are fine to talk about but please do *NOT* discuss our core business products or link to them such as motherboards, cpus, mice etc.

Considering how many times that rule has changed I wouldn't trust it :p

Better to just not risk it.

I don't understand how people can't just look on game price comparison websites, gamestracker for example, easy peasy.

omg omg OMG OMG!! This game looks so JUICY!

this is going to be the greatest game ever made ever...EVER.

This is THE GREATEST game ever made ever in the history of ever made games ever...EVER.

Psycho, that free shipping will come with time. Calm down :p

I am going to try REALLY hard to start and finish Skyrim. With Oblivion and Fallout 3, I got about 3 hours into the story with each and then got distracted with mods or sidequests, and ended up either ruining my gamesave somehow or just getting completely lost and bored.

Just going to take it slow, play through vanilla, and not get anything spoiled...
