The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

If a mod to put it back in does surface, I'll definitely install it! Having chickens running off to the guards to drop you in it is brilliant.

My Shopto is about £28 or £29 I think, which might not be the cheapest but since you're guaranteed it before release it's worth it. Especially since with a VPN you can play it 2-3 days early while your countrymen are still waiting for retailers to get their thumb out :)

Bloke in another thread is still waiting for shopto to deliver dark souls so I wouldn't say guaranteed. Ordered mine for £22 with a discount code but that no longer works.

I have always gotten my game Tuesday or Wednesday before a Friday release from shopto, so I am expecting it early. VPN for the win :D

I am looking forward to this game, I still play Morrowind and Oblivion a fair bit.

anyone getting the collector's edition?

I would love the collector's edition, but it is a little out of my league price wise. I am starting to formulate a cunning plan though. :)

I dont know if i have said this here yet but i have a feeling that this game will be a pile of console buggy crap like RAGE.

If ID, a legendary developer company for the pc can wash there hands on pc and do a half arsed job, what more of this game?

Seriously guys i wouldnt have high hopes for this game at all. Dont be surpised if this turns out to be a dud like RAGE

This comment is a bit daft. Rage / id software has nothing to do with the development of Skyrim. I wouldn't really call id software a "legendary" pc developer either, last great game they made was 12 years ago.

I think also that everyone who plays Bethesda games will be expecting bugs on release, it happened with Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I'm not expecting anything different here. Good thing with Skyrim though is it has modding support shipping with it and the Nexus community that works with Bethesda games are brilliant, so no worries on my end regarding that.

I don't think you'll find many people willing to pay those sorts of prices for a plastic dragon.

Indeed. Even if it does ship with the typical console game crap we've come to expect, you can bet that there will be a day 1 mod to remove it anyway. The Elder Scrolls modding community is immense, and is in a league of it's own.

I know that this is the pc gaming section , but I thought I would ask here as the other consoles section about skyrim is a little short.

but seeing as my non existing pc is not upto the job for skyrim, so i'm having to rely on my xbox for this game, is there going to be much difference graphics wise between the two?

.....is there going to be much difference graphics wise between the two? [xbox/PC]

I would bloody hope so. If there isn't the developers are in for some serious (and entirely deserved) rage.

As for the modding communities they are such a huge benefit to a game as you know if problems aren't fixed in patches there are talented modder's out there who will fix them.

I miss mods in the current BF games - I think they are a huge loss to the community.

On release probably not other than better resolutions on pc. Once the modders have a few weeks with it though...

that's where another problem lies , I have no internet access apart from my phone, so any bugs from release I think I may have to live with , or I might just leave it till when I get myself sorted , and when there is patches to cure it all

Short of a UI mod to make the menu text not fill half the screen I think theres a bit too much wishful thinking going on here...

Im considering whether to cancel my pre-order and wait a short while until the modders have had there way with it.

Got Fallout 3 and Stalkers to keep me busy in the meantime.

Then again I am hoping for a per-order cloth map.
