The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Trophies ? They for epeen craving teens ain't they? I mean what do they really achieve? I just don't get the point of them.

Obviously not as I am well out of my teens. :D I think they add extra to the gameplay and provide an incentive for you to do things you might not have thought of.

e.g. using only the plasma cutter in Dead Space.

e.g. collecting all the treasure in Uncharted. I wouldn't bother if there was nothing to gain from it.

e.g. collecting all the feathers in Assassin's Creed II.

e.g. collecting all the light seeds in Prince of Persia.

Oh and don't get me wrong. I've got three of those games on Steam so I'll quite happily play without trophies, too. ;)

Wow, I want to work for Bethesda! That looks like such an awesome working environment!

Cannot wait for this game, Oblivion was the game that made me getting a 360 a worthwhile purchase and I have never been more excited for a game than when I saw the feature for it in OXM, a long time ago.

Definite purchase, which doesnt come along too often these days :p

Wait what? At high level people were getting killed by Rats and Crabs? What did they go afk for 10 minutes? Any mage worth his salt would blast them to Oblivion (har!) in a single spell, warriors with a single power attack and stealth characters... well the rat shouldn't even see the attack coming. I hope they're exaggerating...

I get there reasoning... but it just sounds completely ridiculous when they say that the new "set in stone mage" is just an adventurer with a slightly higher magic stat. If thats the truth of the matter then frankly the game will be **** and instead of just turned itself into a generic action game and not an RPG. Hopefully they'll be a bit more to it than that or playing a mage or a stealth char just won't have any feeling to it. Didn't really sound like they were giving stealth much consideration either tbh, more like an after thought...

I think you played it wrong ;) I sunk 30+ hours doing the assassin and thief guild missions before visiting a single portal tower. The main quest did suck though, i'll grant you that.

Me too - those side stories alone would have been enough for a whole separate game. Absolutely brilliant.
