The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Well after loads of messing around i am finally happy with the way the game looks now ;), using Project ENB and immersive first person makes it feel like a new game, hopefully i can finally get to Falskaar for a look around :)

Not sure if i am gonna drop Dragon Combat Overhaul as it does spam the pap log abit when fighting dragons but its just so much fun watching people and giants being taken into the air and thrown :D. All the other monster spawns i got being handled by Sleeping dangers sands of time

When doing the Falskaar quests, make sure to save often! A number of times doing the Adventure the quests did not continue and a reload was needed

and save before the very last part of the main quest (before you enter the battle)

I probably played through it underleveled and found the difficulty spike on the last bit near impossible.. and it won't let you exit the quest once you've started it.

Few mods I use as someone who's recently got back into playing the game. No gameplay changes but damn does Skyrim look, feel and sound good now. And I can't believe how many new quests I found in one sitting. This game is unbelievably big.

Download SKSE - which allows some mods to work correctly. It just launches the game through the script extender. skse_launcher.exe

Then download BOSS which will check for errors in your mods and make sure they're running ok and in the correct order.

Download Nexus Mod Manager if you need it.

Run BOSS which should bring up to errors to do with 'Climates of Tamriel'.
Copy 'SoS - The Wilds-PatchCoT.esp' to F:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data
You can download the patch HERE

Don't forget to run the game through the Script extender.

Enjoy!

Yes, but it depends on your screen resolution, anything higher than 1080P might be problematic, is your card a 2Gb or 4Gb model?

As said, VRAM seems to be the biggest concern. I never thought it a million years I'd max out 2GB at 1080p. Even at 1k/med res etc, I'm running at 2GB usage most of the time. I have ~200 mods install as well as RealVision ENB however :D

On another topic, does anyone know if wearable lanterns works with STEP? Also, one of the STEP mods gave me hotkey torches. Any ideas how they work?

EDIT: It's part of 'Drop Lit Torches' mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10394/?

Great list. I have most of them. I love Climates of Tamriel but sadly it's no longer compatible with STEP mods due to the Immersive Thunder etc.

1080p, and 2gb

You'll be sound, my 670 2GB can run Skyrim with any mod out there at 1200p without any noticeable frame drops. Wouldn't want to take it above that res though, and that's without the games rubbish inefficient MSAA enabled, but with ENB's SMAA instead.

Same here, but I now have a LOT of mods + ENB so I'm hoping to get a second 670 for a bit more grunt.

Would you say that's worth it? I'm thinking of doing the same myself, but not sure if it's worth paying a little more for a second one rather than getting a 7gtx series in a few month and flogging the 670. I always saw SLI as a monstrous short term upgrade but not so good for the future.

Say, if I was to get a 4GB 670 would it SLI with a 2GB and allow me 4GB overall VRAM?

Nope, you have to keep 2GB + 2GB or 4GB + GB, you can't mix unfortunately. 2x GTX 670 is better than a a 770 or 780. You can pick up used 670s for £150. I'm meant to be buying one off my mate, but £800 of work on my car has put a stop to that for now :(

Damn, that sucks. :( Will probably jump up to the 7xx series then, as VRAM is going to be important like it is every new generation imo.

Don't blame you, can't do much without a car these days. :p

Digging around the nexus and just found out Immersive Armours has been updated to V7 and its almost 1gig , downloading now :D http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19733/?, get downloading

I love this mod, but it never seems to scale with SkyRE for me each time I install it. SkyRE basically changes stats of weapons & armor to make them higher numbers for better precision but all the armor in IA end up having vanilla values. High end armor from the mod is about as strong as vanilla steel, do you know how to sort that out? I tried to manually do it with reproccer but I had no idea what values were what compared to vanilla as armor skills add to defense in game obviously, and which armors from IA appear at what level. Any ideas?

Cheers!

.....

Nice variety of mods there! Gonna check out the Static Mesh Improvement Mod now :D

I have STEP installed and wearable lanterns work fine :) I also have COT installed and BOSS/MO didn't throw up any problems and seems ok?
