The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Your welcome Neil, you do all the hard work tbh, updating the thread and links etc, but i will plug my mate Throthgar again :D http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48797/?, funniest follower mod i have ever used everytime he starts humming the dragonborn song while laying into mobs with his 2hand sword i just start laughing :p. He started attacking a dragon and said Lets show it some love and when it flew of and came back he started shouting NOOOOOOoooo its coming for me :) HAHAHAHAHA the guys a legend and i love exploring skyrim with him tagging along

Wanna give this a go but it won't work with all the mods I've got.

Custom cinematic ENB and array of high res textures. :)

I've installed 40 mods including some fairly graphically incentive ones and my GTX 680 can still record the game at 1080p 60FPS.

I must be doing something wrong, what else can I install? Has to be lore friendly and not stupid.

Really strange sometimes that Skyrim crashes at logo screen when some mods are uninstalled even by using mod manager and boss. If it's been removed then skyrim shouldn't see missing it until a load saved game has been done.

( this doesn't relate to any mods in my op list as I'm testing others )

I'm going to remove drop lit torches. It is the most ****ing irritating thing in the history of modding. I cannot unequip a two handed weapon or bow with it during combat. The bow drops then just reequips again imediately. And you cannot not drop a torch - if you unequip it, it just drops it regardless.

Which is odd because that mod was uninstalled through nmm, perhaps it's still leaving bits behind :eek:

Cheers for that info though :cool:

Or another mod depended on the one you uninstalled?

Patches or addons to mods you may have forgotten about. I have a few that are not compatible with the NMM so they are just in the data folder.

BOSS not show you any errors?

I was getting tearing wit my crossfire HD7950s on ultra with 4k mods on 1440p....dont know if that helps, but just to give you an idea i guess lol

I dont get tearing on mine thankfully. I just wish there was a way to apply DOF using Crossfire. I cant believe the ENB series still hasnt been fixed after all this time to use DOF properly.

What are you guys doing to get CF working nicely with ENB?
I've tried a bunch of stuff like using the Assassin's creed CF profile or renaming TESV.exe to oblivion.exe and using the Fear CF profile and no joy so far.

Hell yeah.

I've just managed to get my Crossfire working properly with RealVision and ENB. As we all know there is a huge problem with DOF not working for multi GPUS. Just fixed it by doing this;

1) Download Sharpshooters original ENB http://www.nexusmods...yrim/mods/15105

2) Extract the following file from it "enbeffectprepass.fx" and copy it to your desktop.

3) Right click the file from your desktop and open it in either notepad or notepad ++

4) Find or search for the line "#define USE_SMOOTH_DOF"

5) Disable it by adding // in front of it. So it will look like
"//#define USE_SMOOTH_DOF"

6) Then save and close the file.

7) Then copy and paste the file to your Skyrim folder overwriting the other "enbeffectprepass.fx" file from what ever ENB you're currently using.

I cant take credit for this, someone kindly posted this fix on the forums and is working just beautiful. Have now got unreal fps and perfect DOF again, running 150+ mods, loads of Ultra HD mods also. Have bumped ugrids to 7 because running the Sheson memory patch, the game is so much more stable now.

Only Issue I have now are these damn grey faces and neck seams on NPCs

I just tried it with default CF settings in CCC and it generally seems to work.
Thing is, it also seems to have affected my (fairly) carefully set up lighting settings and done some other things to the visuals like drastically over exposed skies and soft focus trees/distance. I have DOF off btw.

VRAM usage is being displayed as around 5.5gb (from around 2.5gb using a single card) and it can be a little jerky here and there.

turn on frame pacing and get rid of vsync. make the game limit frames to 60, use the sheshan memory fix and change your memory settings in ENBlocal to these if you havent

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
VideoMemorySizeMb=8192
EnableCompression=false
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false

buttery smooth here

I had everything set up like that with the exception of the vram size (512/3072).
Just tried it and I may have to play a little more to see how it goes. It may be a little better, but I'm not sure yet.

Still wondering why it's buggered up the sky/sun lighting settings though... Ah well, more fiddling to do :) Getting there.

Looking at that, I think it may have screwed up some other settings too.
