The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Do you have your mods loaded onto your SSD as well?
I'm picking up a larger SSD (Thanks Amazon!) and might throw it all onto there as I notice some loading stuttering.

I use NMM installed on my external 1TB, any new mods get installed to Skyrim on the SSD. Don't want both the game, the installed mods and the backed up NMM mods taking too much space.

Yes, that Verdant grass look s like the final piece of the puzzle. Always hated the patchy grass look.

Cant believe I spent a whole week off work playing this and still never got round to playing the main quest.

Very easy to do Devious and when you do part of the main quest it is not long before you end up spending more time on side quests. :)

Guys I can't get my mod organizer to open Nexus download links, and I followed the tutorial and clicked the "associate" button. Any ideas?

EDIT - nm sorry guys I restarted and its working now!

How do you do that do I need to reinstall the app to the other HD, or can I just create folders and point to them inside the app?

EDIT - I created folders and pointed, should be ok. :)

That Verdant grass mod does look good.

Looking good:

How about inside...

Ooops :).

Goodbye sweet FPS too :). Although increasing the iMinGrassSize=70 setting in Skyrim.ini can help.

Wooooo!

Just followed the guide in the OP and finally got everything figured out and working! Looks amazing and even with 4x FXAA @ 1080p I rarely dip below 50fps on my 980m! Will start downloading more mods soon, but thanks very much to the OP and Reaper etc for all the awesome info! :)

EDIT - Haha that was without grass on steroids enabled... with that enabled my framerate drops to 20fps in a field full of grass. Will disable that one methinks. :)

No problem mate, have been meaning to get a full mega guide together that details everything, glad it worked for you. :D

@Fanatic, what texture mod is used for that sawmill screenshot, the side wall looks nice, and which ENB are you using? Great shots.

just put on the Veradant grass, man I like it a lot.

and nothing to do with grass, just loved the light on this with the mist from the water and the high texture rocks

Just picked this up for £2, plan to get the dlc too. I played it on 360 but not much, question is.. What are the best mods to install? Can't be bothered reading through the 100 pages

It's Tamriel reloaded textures and Seasons of Skrim ENB

Is it worth using Tamriel Loaded over the other one in the OP? :)

Read only the OP... it has a full guide?

Your going to have to do a ton of reading on this one my friend, there is no lazy approach. If you go to nexus webpage, search for Realvision, then get reading. The guy has awesome descriptions and essential, optional and important mod lists coupled with videos and guides etc. Also, there's plenty of info in opening posts.

Think I might take some and load them with other textures.
I like the style and the use of parallax on them which adds some nice depth (Make's them a little 'grainy' though).

Still deciding on an ENB as well.

Ahhh, I'm spending too much time modding and not enough time playing!

Well, with all mods enabled at 1080p I am using max around 2.1GB VRAM, which isn't bad at atll really. Can't wait sto get an SSD as it will certainly improve the odd minor hitching Im seeing as textures are loaded. Very impressed withmy 980m. :)

Hard to say, you can only really know by using both and comparing them. Which can take ages and be a pain :). Tamriel Reloaded does have some nice textures. Also some bad ones that I deleted :).

Ok thanks. :)

Seasons of Skyrim is nice, it is on an older build of ENB and seems pretty lightweight compared to the FPS loss some of the later ENBs give you.

The author has another one called Project ENB that goes well with Climates of Tamriel mod.

It just seems to be DOF that gives me issues.
I was running Serenity with all of the above mods at a stable 62fps.

If I then add DOF, I'm down to the 30-40's.
Even when I installed Verdant - Grass and set grass density to 30 I had no drop in FPS.

Serenity might use a more complicated DoF than Seasons of Skyrim. You could try copying enbeffectprepass.fx from Seasons of Skyrim and pasting it over the top of the one that comes with Serenity.
