The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

How much though?

Not a great amount of performance loss, one or two frames here or there! It uses better textures at higher performance levels. Pretty much the new grass on steroids.

Just make sure you read the ini file instructions and set the grass texture/amount correctly.

How much though?

Barely any, I run the full version with grass set to 45 in skyrim.ini and had no performance decrease. Outside of Whiterun with Skyrim Landscape Overhaul objects and the grass I see a slight decrease to 45-50fps but everywhere else is solid. Changing the grass density to 60 would stop that, but I'm happy at 45.

By far the best grass mod. :D

I know this is a lazy request but are there any really good all in one mods?

Really cannot be bothered installing 50+ mods separately

I thought the same, but then I followed the guide in the OP and it's actually really easy. Also, once you have this baseline established then it's also much easier to experiment and add new mods.

I'm glad it's actually simple and decent to follow, I've tried to make the guide as simple as possible, once all the fixes and recommended mods are in place you have a solid base to work on and move onto the visual and texture mods.

MO is a high recommendation purely as it keeps all the mods outside of the main skyrim folder, meaning if you have an issue you can re-install Skyrim and everything will work as before, no need to re-install anything.

Same goes for ENB's then, the only files that will be inside the Skyrim folder will be SKSE and any ENB files. Everything else is vanilla. :D

Yup, I didn't proceed with the guide until I mad Mod Organizer up and running. I love the way you can have a separate download folder for the mods on your storage drive, and then a specific folder for Mods in the game directory. Makes things much, much easier.

The only thing I'm worried about is conflicting mods.

I'll try Mod Organiser tonight

Mod Organiser handles all the conflicts as well, it won't overwrite files it will load them in priority instead, so you can move them on top of each other depending on which you prefer.

Nothing is lost with conflicts where-as with NexusMM it would normally overwrite the file when you install a new mod and the files are lost.

I can send you a print screen of my load order for the best compatibility of conflicts if you want?
