The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I really want to mod SKyrim, but unfortunately I'm on a laptop and have no idea what will break it or not. If there's anyone else playing it on a laptop, would you be able to list the main mods that work and do not cause it to grind to a halt, please? :o

Specs are:

i7-2670QM
16GB RAM
GT 555M

Seems to cope find on ultra/high with the offcial high res pack.

You'll be fine with most mods, just avoid ENBs. Even the ones that claim "only 5fps drop" are just utter BS.

Took a few more pics before laying the smack down on Alduin

Anyone know how to do a backup in MO properly?

Google didn't through up much.. guessing by playing around you create a back in MO and then just copy the mods folder and profiles folder to another drive?

Then if you need to reinstall MO copy the two folders back over and click restore backup in MO?

Pretty much, all you need is a copy of your mods folder & your load order, depending on how you set it.

There is a create backup option as well, blue arrow next to the yellow arrow.

Similar questions as to the one enigma27 asked but the twist is I need to do a reinstallation of everything I think. I am running 2x290's but have a sound issue when doing it with Skyrim, any other game is fine, so thinking of uninstalling it all, including Skyrim from Steam. Then adding it back and see if still having same sound issue or not.

But just wondering what best way to do it is. Could I do a backup as above, (incase no difference then just have to live with running it in windowed mode and one GFX card) so I can continue with my present gameplay once done the resinstallation. Or should I create a restore point on the PC and revert back to that one if the reinstallation of everything don't work ??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and if any other users here is playing Skyrim in Xrossfire would love to hear if you having any issues as well.

I already use skyui, Harry :)

That looks like the one, UltraDad. Cheers :) It just looks a lot easier to access everything on one screen, rather than going through each menu.

Been getting crashes for about a month.

Found out that SKSE.ini had gone missing a week ago so I created one.

Still getting crashes.

Turns out I put SKSE.ini in the wrong place and the memory patch wasn't taking effect.

SMH.

Isn't that the old version of the mod?
I have both those mods installed and mine is a lot smaller and organised in the corner with tabs and groups?

Will take a screenshot to show what I mean, the larger version I had when I had installed it incorrectly. :p

That's how SkyUI does the favourites. Categorized Favourites Menu does it like Uncle Petey posted. Can't have both at once. To be honest I was thinking of going back to Categorized Favourites Menu, nice to have it all on 1 screen with no scrolling.
