The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

See OP for ENB questions :)

1) Ease of install ( Real vision )
2) Immersion ( Seasons of Skyrim ) <- I use this one installed as per in OP
3) Nice colours ( True Vision )

I want to start modding Skyrim as I haven't played it properly for a while and never really played it with mods.

My spec is an i5 4670k, 8GB, 280X. I want the game to look good but I also want it to be smooth. I just want to start with some graphics mods and a few other essential mods. Installing the mods and configuring them seems so confusing though.

Follow the 1st post in this thread and install Mod Manager before starting to modding your game. Personally if it wasn't for that program I wouldn't be modding Skyrim at all. If you want more information about Mod Manager watch these You Tube episodes made by Gopher, it explains it well.

Mod Organizer explained by Gopher

I not used any ENB's yet, not played Skyrim long, on my first play through now so basially just running around and checking out things. Probably gonna grab one for next turn around to see the difference.

One suggestion though, since you played it before you know the game mechanics a bit already.. For more interesting play through, grab Skyrim Redone or SPERG which will change your skill tree's and such. Or the most recent game changer Perkus Maximum, Made by the same guy that done Skyrim Redone.

Skyrim Redone is a modular gameplay overhaul for TESV-Skyrim.

Its main aim is to enhance the depth of character development by giving options to you, and it does so in many ways- specialize in different types of swords and bows, harvest bones as a necromancer, disguise as a Forsworn, or blow up bandit camps with explosives... most perk trees are modified to offer a large amount of possibilities, and one even is as new as perk trees can get at this point.

On top of that, it offers many optional adjustments to ensure that the sandbox Skyrim offers scales with your new tools.

This mod is the result of 500 hours of gaming, a thousand hours of modding - done mostly by a single guy - and way more than 25.000 comments full of discussion, feedback, and the occasional troll. ;) It's among the Nexus' top 30 mods of all time, the #1 gameplay overhaul mod and a previous FOTM winner... while it was still an alpha version. It better not suck, right?

But, in the end it is up to you though what you want to install but I can't recommend Mod Organizer enough though.

The first bit of advice I would give is make a backup of a clean, non modded Skyrim install.

Tuck it away somewhere safe on the hard drive, because you'll eventually do something with mods that will break your install.

It's just so much quicker to delete it and start fresh than trying to figure out what obscure little file got corrupted or deleted.

Good advice for NMM users, but really MO does away for this kind of thing.

If you are starting from fresh, there really is no reason not to be using MO.

My ENB isn't working for some reason... floatpointrender - 1 is on and there are no errors except no DoF is showing (it is enabled) - whats a good way to check if ENB is on?

I'm using MO and my mods are all installed except no esp/nothing is in my data folder except those I manually installed!

This is why I recommend MO so much, it keeps your Skyrim installation vanilla.

Which ENB are you using?
Which ENB version are you using from enbdev?

Can't remember what this mod is called but hoping maybe someone recognize it: When you shoot someone in the head with an arrow it is a instant kill (unless they wear a heavy armor helmet)... anyone can recall what the mod is ??

Got sidetracked from playing again this weekend lol, I fancied some new armor to finish the game off in style. The default Daedric armor is lacking in detail up close so wanted something else and ended up crafting loads :)

Some here are mods and some originals.

I thought I had decided on the Drakul armor.

Then I found better Daedric texture mod which is really awesome up close. So i went full circle and ended back chosing the Daedric although this much better version. :) Could have saved myself a weekend if I had found this first lol

The texturing and detail of the Royal Daedric really is incredible in game. Get the mod here

What the hell happened to the OP?

I had it all updated and now all it says at the bottom is

Subscribe to the mods on the steam community%2

Maybe a mod can help?

Hopefully

I know for a fact EVERYTIME I edit something I always re-check it to make sure it's right. I know for a fact too that it was ok before I went to bed, I've been editing it since the thread was opened :(. If it is lost, then that is over a page's worth of information gone in a flash. Lots of great tips and tweaks for lots of Skyrim users
