The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Neil - could you do a small favor and add in something like:

"if you're experiencing random crashes after installing some mods, please use the 4GB skyrim , more info later in my post"

As I think it's getting a lot of people... of course, it would mean people would need to read the OP, but still! :)
 
i need some help, i have been installing mods from this thread. the game worked fine and now after my first ctd i cant load ANY save. if i try when the game starts to load it just ctd's :( i have tried a fresh install but still the same. helppppppppppp

Did you fiddle with uGrids to increase distance detail?

That messes with saves if you try to revert to a save with different uGrid to that Skyrim is currently using.

If so this link shows how to modify saves to your current uGrid.

Otherwise no idea.

tbh, i'm not sure if it is an improvement over the 2k textures which also improve mountains and rocks as well, it is certainly better than vanilla and looks very nice so there is no reason not to add it as an option really, especially as it doesn't hit performance at all.

It is awkward keeping track of which mod changes which texture atm, bring on one big texture pack!

Also the new AMD performance drivers have improved my FPS as well, i still go as low as 35 in cities but before i was going down to around 15 in some cities:eek: so it is a very noticeable and welcome improvement:)
