The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Need some help regarding transparency AA settings in the nvidia control panel (290.36 beta).

I'm reading everywhere that you can set it to different levels of supersampling (2x, 4x, 8x), but I can only see one option "supersampling", and it doesn't specify a number.

Does the normal antialiasing setting apply to this too?

Edit: Nevermind, got an answer - need to use nvidia inspector to access the settings.

Surprised the FXAA Post Process Injector hasn't been updated in a while. It still looks the best imo, and I haven't even touched the .ini files to optimise them.

I would be appreciate if on possible spoilers on later/end game stuff there was a couple of links to the comparison pictures instead unavoidable pictures. Armours are something i'm looking forwards to getting.

Armours arent ENDGAME, I had dragon armour by level 10 and the ability to make Deadric. Get over it and stop being so OTT.

What do you use?

iCCC ENB - Natural Shader Injector.

By far the best looking from the ones I've tried and it always includes the most recent ENB patch which fixes a few in game issues.

Just make sure you update your graphics card's ID in enbpatch.ini.

Besides that, I use most (not all though) of the texture mods from STEP list as TheCompiler is a pretty cool guy. Eh always uses the most up to date mods and doesn't afraid to ditch the crappy ones.

Anyone else suffers from huge tearing or microstuttering issues with vsync off?

I got used to it but it does bother me anyway.

I don't know how to get texture mods to work. I put the "textures" file in the data folder, but nothing happens in game. Can anyone tell me what I'm probably doing wrong?
I'm trying to use this mod: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2146#content

Edit: Fixed, I didn't set the folder to read only.

You don't have to set anything to read only except the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini that will be overwritten if any changes are made upon a start up.

This looks interesting- Fountain of Youth- Beauty Project. I am not sure how far it has been developed yet but the screenshots look quite impressive imo. I have however already installed XCE though so i doubt you can use them both at the same time, i might just install this over it and see what happens tbh.

btw XCE is pretty good as well, i don't know if anyone has tried it or if it is the OP but it is a compilation of Xenius's mods such as detailed bodies/faces/lips etc.

^^ I might have to use that, i have been using a different one to craft arrows that was released quite early but you need some quite rare components and i haven't got any yet!

Looks great so far, i don't notice it so much when just running around tbf but look closely and it does look very nice. No FPS loss at all for me either.

It still works for me as well, it is strange that without it i am 100% guaranteed to get a ctd in about a minute, but with it on there is no chance! I only installed it to start with because there was no reason not to as well, wasn't having any problems.

I'm just about to start modding skyrim after I was severely let down by the visuals. It looks pretty average tbh and this is running it at max with my GTX 580.

I'm a bit lost though. There seems to be a lot of texture repacks and I'm wondering if anybody can reccemend a core set? In the past when I've modded games I've come across crashes and things with conflicts between mods. The original post just seems to be a bit of a word vomit tbh :(

These are only texture packs so will not cause any CTD's.

As far as a core set, it is probably best to go on the Nexus site and go to top 100 and change categories to textures and then pick the most recommended ones. 2k texture pack, plus packs for water/furniture/weapons and armour/Vurts flora overhaul are the ones to look out for.

For shaders etc, everyone is using something different, might be best to look through this thread for recommendations tbh. Almost all of the configs and texture packs have some comment on them.
