The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Does no one else find this game really bright?

Garlic bulbs look like light bulbs and standing in places like solitude castle grounds, or any where with cobble flooring in the middle of the days sun is blinding.

The same with snow, daylight running around in the snow is ridiculous hard on the eyes.

Is your monitor and software gamma calibrated?

You could always try one of the natural FXAA Injector configs and see if you like it.

I linked to the one I use a few posts above.

- What is the best driver to use for Skyrim with a 460 GTX?
- How do I get rid of banded shadows without a noticeable degrade in performance?
- Does the 4GB patch work with Steam versions?
- Should I use the ENB patch or the 4GB patch? Or both?
- How much do high res texture mods affect performance?

  1. The latest beta I would assume.
  2. Use this guide.
  3. Yes, there are no other versions of Skyrim (it's a Steamworks game).
  4. ENB Series patch is different (afaik it doesn't enable 4GB support for the game since it does not modify any files) and yes, you can use them both.
  5. Not much, as long as you have a decent graphics card. The game is heavily CPU bound and only uses two threads which is why the performance is so low even on high end rigs. You can always use medium resolution textures (most mods have these) and it will still be a vast improvement over the Skyrim's vanilla textures.

is that the unrealistic shader mod? everything looks like its been painted with a crayon
this one is still the most realistic

I highly recommend using this config or the iCCC Injector with ENB Merge (implements bugfixes, FPS Limiter and other cool features). The latter is even better in my opinion and is always updated by one of the most active people at Skyrim Nexus.

FPS Limiter (which is a must for me) did not work with any Injector mods and Enhanced Shaders takes too much of a performance hit.

I'm using the 275's and they work fine for me. But then I'm not using the latest drivers because they cause my monitor to turn off.

You know, you could just read the instructions before asking questions here.

I have, the instructions aren't clear at all. On the nexus page it makes it out like it you just run it and it modifies the .exe, however in other sources I've seen you have to then execute it from that .exe you download every time.

It's not exactly a straight forward process.

It is. You put the exe and the dll in one folder, run from the exe and it launches the game.

What's so complicated about it?

Running
-------
First, make sure Steam is running. Then run Skyrim4GB.exe to launch the game!
You don't even need it in the games directory, just make sure skyrim4gb.exe and
skyrim4gb_helper.dll are together.

You'd have to be a tard not to understand this.

So has anyone modded the interface so it's 100% mouse control now? Instead of mouse -> Keyboard -> mouse -> Keyboard -> mouse -> mouse -> errrrggghh not it's not it's Keyboard ...****

Looking for something which allows you to wear more than one ring at a time, i think 3 is probably a good number, 1 is too few, but maybe 4 would make it too easy.
I have so many rings that are great but don't get used.

Two is probably ideal, anything more than that and your character becomes too overpowered. Unless you cut all the bonuses in half.
