The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I pretty much did the above when modding my game and looks pretty damn good. Just got to get into it now. Played it a little on my macbook but its a different beast when on Ultra+modded on the desktop.

Just got to get into the game now!

Thank god. I was really getting sick of scrolling through the long favourites menu.

Hey guysi gave up too soon on skyrim and looking at the screenshot thread makes me want to mod it up and restart the game!

I installed a few mods on my first playthtough but cant remember what they are now! I was wondering if i install the nexus manager, will this identify already installed mods for me to remove and start fresh? Or is it best to do a fresh install and use the steam workshop ?

Im running crossfire 6950 2gb cards, i5 2500k and 8gb ram so hope thats enough to mod it to look as good as it can!

Thanks!

It won't auto detect mods (I think) but it will obviously have a load order so you can deactivate mods that use .esp's. If you still have the original zip files from when you downloaded them you'll be able to add them to NMM and activate/deactivate them completely that way.

Otherwise your only solution is to fresh install. I've been told the Steam Workshop is good but I don't use it, prefer the nexus mod manager, plus it has a bigger collection of mods I think.

They work by forcing TESV.exe to use the mod's custom d3d9.dll instead of Windows own version.

If you noticed no change at all after installing one you installed it incorrectly.

Just curious as to how people deal with mods overwriting eachother? I'm just tinkering around with a few new mods, and textures from some are wanting to overwtire textures from others.

eg. 'Skyrim HD Misc' asks to overwrite some files from 'Improved NPC Clothing'.

If it overwrites the textures instead of having 2 separate files there shouldn't be any conflict.
Its really down to this. Does the HD mod overwrite EVERYTHING that mod added? If it does you may as well remove whats left if its an easy task. If not just ignore it unless it causes conflicts.

Tried the 3 ENB's suggested in this thread, and although they are graphically impressive, they are just not for me.

I like my lighting mods etc with the vanilla mood of the game.
