The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remastered - MODS & TWEAKS

I'm very impressed with how stable the SE is. I'm throwing mods at it and it isn't missing a beat! (as I said before, no SKSE is a blessing in disguise for many mods, you lose a little bit of functionality, and gain a lot of stability)

I'm playing the quest mod 'Forgotten City' atm. It is very good. In fact, there are some very good quest mods out there, and some very good ones that add new areas too

nop i was clearly looking at a different mod to that one lol it looks as though its highly acclaimed

Finished it earlier. It is excellent. Probably the best quest mod I've ever played for a Bethesda game.

Presentation is superb. Very creepy!

It is far superior to anthing else you will do in the game

They have SkyUI yet for the special edition? :)

Only the old pre-SKSE version

Version 2.2 works, there is guides as to how to remove the warning message you be getting for not haveing SKSE installed but it works, part from the search function. If you have a UW screen though, installed this mod as well: Complete Widescreen Fix for Vanilla and SkyUI 2.2 by Daisuke, and it will help removing the warning message as well helping with your UW of course. :)

I put this in the Ratings thread, and I thought it might be useful here-

The Forgotten City

This is a quest mod for Skyrim. It is very well made and highly acclaimed, featuring a great story which is very clever, and some really interesting mechanics.

  • You play it within a Skyim playthrough from level 5 upwards. It is totally self-contained though in the sense that it takes place in one location and you can't leave until you have completed the main quest.
  • It will take anywhere from 3 to 8 hours I would say. There are many different endings, and if you do it 'wrong', it can end without you seeing the full picture.
  • The setting and characters are excellent. With each person having a good back story and feeling like they belong where they are.
  • The story is really, really top drawer. I won't give anything away, but I'll say it involves time travel, and incorporates it very well in to the game.
  • Voice acting is all very good, and the music is great and very atmospheric.
  • Production values all round are high.
  • Has some very interesting lore concerning dwarves.
  • The game reacts very well to what you have done, both in the mod and in Skyrim as a whole...You can play from level 5, but it mentions a lot of stuff you might have done from the main game, so maybe best to play it later. I was level 20
  • Really cool ending.
  • Easily the best experience you will have playing Skyrim.
Overall I couldn't recommend this mod more. That you can play it for free is scandalous, as it is more enjoyable than many, many full games released. It is very clever and lets you work things out for yourself in a way games don't do much nowadays. I will be keeping tabs on the developer, who apparently has a full game in the works(unrelated to this of course).

As this is a potentially free mod, I can't think of a reason to mark it down from 10/10. Highly recommended!

Are there any SE mods that allow you to save right and left hand weapon/spell configurations to a hotkey? Or is that possible in vanilla somehow - it has been so long since I played vanilla Skyrim I forget what was a mod and what wasn't...

That only binds one weapon/spell per hotkey though, right? With SkyUI you could bind, say, a sword and shield to one hotkey and firebolt and ward to another so you could switch between the two setups with one button press.

I think you press Q to bring up the quick menu. Then you hold down a number key (1 trough 8) while hovering over a item or spell.
Then you can swap between items by tapping the assigned number key.

I finally got all the achievements for SSE after a week of grinding (evenings after work ofc).

Wasn't worth it. My first perfect game on Steam and I'm unfulfilled. Won't bother with that again.

Yep, quit while you still can! I am a completionist and if i get to the end of a game and only have a few achievements off 100% i'll go back and try to get them if i can. Sometimes it can ruin the experience when you look back on a good game and just remember all the grinding for a pointless achievement. I am trying to not even look at the achievement list these days, but find it hard. I'm sure its like a form of OCD or something..

Did you ever use Legacy of the Dragonborn on old Skyrim? I've never been a completionist but it is probably my favourite mod of all time. It added a museum in Solitude with displays for all the unique and interesting items in the game including loads added by other mods, exhibitions for the major quest lines, plus a quest line of its own that progresses as you add more items to the museum. People visited the museum and left donations, and I think it even had an Alternate Start option where you started the game as a treasure hunter.

A much more compelling reason to do and see everything Skyrim has to offer than chasing Steam achievements.

Sadly it requires SKSE so it isn't available for SE yet.
