The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remastered - MODS & TWEAKS

I'm still going on my playthrough. Really enjoying it, playing quite slowly in little bits mainly.

Just finished the mod 'Lifeless Vaults', which is a quest mod that adds a 2-3 hour quest dungeon that is very, very good. It is basically trying to be Dark Souls, and it really surprised me at how well it did it. It takes place in a single Dwemer ruin, littered with traps and clearly inspired by DS, you explore through it ans face plenty of new enemies that all have a DS vibe, new music, 5 bosses that work really well(even has kind of fog doors before them!), some nice loot.

Highly recommended!

Only just started after getting it in the Steam sale, and have been putting on mods. I would like something that makes it a bit more realistic looking, any suggestions? I have the SSE texture pack by osmodius and SMIM, as well as character overhaul and armour thingy. I was looking at climates of tamriel but I read lots of comments about the non stop thunder and rain sounding torrential when inside a building even if it was a drizzle outside, so I think it would annoy me.

Generally something to make the landscape/weather/lighting etc look really nice.

I'd say Vivid Weathers is much better than Climates of Tamriel, definitely worth a look:

Skyrim 2017 Textures (a remake of Skyrim 2K) ups a lot of the terrain textures, though I've found it can make some textures glitch later in the game:

For lighting, some people prefer the Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod while others prefer Enhanced Lights and FX. Test them both (or look at videos) and decide which you prefer:

For the look of nature, I use a combination of Veydosebrom and Skyrim Flora Overhaul

Veydosebrom is one of my top mods for grass textures:

Skyrim Flora Overhaul makes a lot of the plant life (particularly trees) look nicer:

Thank you very much! I will have a good look at them. :)

yes thnx very much. my son was just asking me the other day about skyrim mods and you have came up trumps

Beyond Skyrim - Bruma is out now on original version. SE coming very soon apparently. I can't wait to get started. It is basically a new dlc!

So many excellent quest/content mods for Skyrim... Tbh, I think people get too bogged down in graphics mods. Before I played the SE I just spent a small amount of time downloading a few lighting/weather mods, a sweetfx profile and a handful of texture mods and the game looks amazing and runs great.

You got a list of those mods? Even a screenshot of your Nexus or something?

Sure. Here is the base of my game, graphically-

Flora Overhaul
Skyrim 2017 textures - This is a big texture pack!
Vivid Weathers
Realistic Lighting Overhaul(only interiors)
Vivid Landscapes
Verdant
Realistic Water 2
Windsong Immersive Character Overhaul
Total Character Makeover
SMIM

Sweetfx I use is - Clearview. I did have to adjust the black in it though, as was a bit harsh.

Then it is simply a case of going to Nexus - Top Files - Most endorsed - then the category Models and Textures. Gives you a list of the most endorsed texture mods in order. Pick the ones you like the look of and add as you wish, or not. The Good thing about textures is you can just install/uninstall as much as you want without issue....I am over 100 hours in to a playthrough and yesterday I decided I didn't like a texture, so I removed it. Then I got another one. Just experiment as you go...You might find you don't want any more. Basically play the game, and if you come across something you don't like the look of, search for it on Nexus. 9 times out of 10 there will be something on there!

For additional texture mods, you might want to look at(search for) something for the following:
Creatures
Dragons
Clothes
Horses
clutter
Something that does banners. Can't remember the name

It won't look as good as some who really push it with ENBs etc, but it looks very, very good in all areas whilst still getting good FPS for me on a 970.

Thanks for the ClearView link, it seems to have remedied the annoying white-ish 'haze' I had on everything, even with the 'godrays' off.

As for textures, I have Noble Skyrim which looks pretty good. It's a big pack about 2.4GB and it's not listed in the SSE section, only in the original game section, but there is a full fat SSE version on the original's page.

Definitely. It adds an area bigger than Dragonborn to the game, with many, many new quests set round the town of Bruma. The area is added to the normal Skyrim map.

I posted a trailer for it just up the page

I've been looking for an excuse for another play through, will definitely give it a shot, cheers!
