The Emirates FA Cup 4th Round ** Spoilers ** [7th - 11th February 2025]

United are so bad, you do have to wonder how long Amroim will last?

What if they buy a load of players for his system and then realise it won't work, at which point they'll be back in the same position they're in now.

It has to be a question they ask. He plays such a specific type of football that requires specialist players that you can't really have continuity of any shape if you sack him at some point.

You have to believe that they are going to spend £200m+ in the summer if they want to get him anything like a squad that can do what he wants. Then they have to cross their fingers and toes. It sounds like Amorim was OK with the fact we were never going to spend much in January but you can't really fire the guy without giving him at least a single transfer window when what he does requires such different players to what he has.

I don’t know why this has become a ‘thing’ recently where managers have a system they have to stick to and buy players for that system.

I feel like in the past managers worked with what they had and fit the system to the players they had and the opposition they were facing.

What else can we do? Got to try something different, doing the same old **** wasn’t working for the last 10 years.

Patience, people… Patience!

It's a very high risk strategy isn't it?

The issue is player purchases more than tactics I'd say.
