Its been like this for a very long time. There is a difference between coming into a side that plays four at the back and tinkering a little with the midfield but largely keeping it the same and changing to a back 5 with wing backs and 2 10s. All the good teams have key players that make the side tick.

I'm sure Amorim could play 4 at the back and a more traditional formation but we didn't hire him to do that and he would just have to start from a lower point if he gave up on this season and his preferred tactics.
 
Jammy *******. Literally anywhere else and he doesn't score that. 2 inches to either side he doesn't score that.

But I don’t think you can just blindly have “a system” and assume it will always work / work in any league.

What if you hire someone to play that system and it just flat out doesn’t work?

Precisely. Amorim has stated his intentions. And I think it’s sound reasoning, why do something half-arsed and have to unpick it again. It’s not like we were going to be top 5 with this team anyway.

I don't think the defenders are going to change are they?

United have changed though, for the worse! I'd like him to succeed but it does seem like a risk. I'm certainly not expecting and never expected things to change, I've been clear from day one, the players are the problem. I have also said that his style is uncommon in the league, has anyone ever won it with this formation
