i think next season man utd will win the title.... am sure they will feel that they can keep up with chelsea given their run for the last however many games.

Chelsea will find it harder next season as man utd and arsenal will be much better

yes but then thats assuming that ballack makes no difference to chelsea, and that they don't bother to buy any players themselfs.

I can't see City making it either I'm afraid & you're right about the form teams winning the play offs in Div.1 too. Brentford came 3rd a few yrs ago & lost out to Huddersfield who came 6th with a late run of form. At the moment none of the top 5 are playing well at all.

That was said a lot at the end of last season funnily enough. This season has been harder for Chelsea, but I don't think that was down to the competition, just mistakes made on & off the pitch which put unnecessary pressure on the team:)

Finishing third is crap, we did it twice in a row both times one point off second, first time we lost to bloody baadif in the playoffs after the worlds greatest defensive performance from Spensor Prior who previously had been woeful for Cardiff, then we finished theird and lost in the final to Brighton as Willson once again decided that he'd pick a rubbish team and tell them to defend a 2-0 lead from the off against one of his old clubs

I can't see us making it either, but all we can do is win our last 3 games and see what happens, and hopefully send Swindon down :D and throw a spanner in the works fo Southends promotion party, i'd take finishing just outside the playoffs after our season, and sending Swindon into the basement league with that other shower from Bristol :D

Chelsea deserve to win it this year, they've won more home games than anyone else, haven't been defeated at Stamford Bridge at all this season in the Premiership, they've scored the most goals at home as well. Liverpool are the second best team at home this season. If they can improve their away form next season and get some strikers in they're in with the best chance they've had in a while. If we (Man Utd) stop dropping silly points and keep to a steady 4-4-2 formation we'll be in with a bigger chance of winning the Premiership. I'm looking forward to Smith and Heinze in good form next season with a few new additions to central midfield.

This summer is important to Arsenal, if Henry goes I don't expect them to finish in the top 3 next season. And yes, I'll eat this post with a knife and fork this time next year if Arsenal do finish in the top 3 without Henry. ;)

edit: I've been praying to the football Gods that Chelsea do not sign Shevchenko, if they do well then....it'll be even harder for the rest of us.

Well we have to sign a new striker and anyone would be better goal scoring wise than our current crop to be honest. The hard part about that though is finding a striker who is prepared to do the work JM demands & is still capable of unlocking stubborn defences, not many of those around really:(

I can only imagine what Mourinho expects of his players every game considering how animated he is on the touchlines, but like Ferguson of old who had Keane, Mourinho has his own talisman in Terry. Both born leaders on the pitch. I've heard Shevchenko's name mentioned a few times so I still think that's a strong possiblity. Would Raul or Ronaldo light your fire? :)

Ronaldo has always seemed a lazy git to me so he wouldn't fit in & I don't know much about Raul apart from his record. The type of striker we need is Owen, does his fair share of work & scores more than his fair share of goals:)

Couldnt see owen fitting into your style of play though, Owen plays better and scores more goals with long balls up the field for him to run onto

While as chelsea play good passing football, which is why i would say he wouldnt fit it

As much as i;d hate to see chelsea get him, Shevchenko would be an awesome addition to your squad and it would be great for the premiership to see him come in their

Owen wouldn't really suit the 4-5-1 play of Chelsea's current team though. They need some strong and tall like Drogba, only less rubbish. ;)

Adriano would be the perfect fit for that imo, although Shevva or Ibrahimovic would work well there too. Owen would only really be worthwhile if they switched to a 4-4-2 and played him alongside Crespo/Drogba/someone else.

I said it when he was up for grabs that I thought Owen would fit in really well. Cole, Duff, Robben & Lamps (& SWP now) all play slick, intelligent through balls which are mainly wasted. Owen is the sort of quick witted player who benefits from that sort of football. Obviously Owen won't be coming to the Bridge now, but his type would be a good addition I reckon:)

Thats the kind of player Chelsea will be looking for when the transfer window opens. Someone like Sergio Aguero or Fernando Torres would be ideal, young, pace, skillful and know how to find the back of the net.

At this moment in time either of those two players are worth in the region of £20m and only clubs like Chelsea, Madrid & Barca are able to pay that sort of money on one player.

I would love to see someone like Aguero at Anfield, think he could do really really well and score a lot of goals, but with his price tag I think he is out of reach :(

Liverpool only have themselves to blame, they re-signed the wrong God;)
I've never heard of Aguero to be honest but Torres has been mentioned a lot along with Tevez (I think?).
Crespo is going to go, Eidur will probably want a meal ticket somewhere else & it's pointless still paying C. Cole's wages so at least 2 strikers will be coming in. Scott Sinclair is all we have coming up through the ranks so a few £ will have to be spent, but I'd be surprised if we are the biggest spenders next season:)

Ibrahimovic would last 5 minutes at chelsea, Maureen would'nt put up with his antics.
For a start he is a lazy mofo.

Aguero is regarded as the best young striking prospect in Argentina, the Argentinian coach and youth team coaches have said he is every bit a player as Messi and that with both of them Argentina look in good shape for future competitions.

I watched a show on Sky Sports and they had Aguero on it, looks a very very talented young player and at the age of 18 already looks the real deal and finished article with his finishing and awareness.

There has been lots of talk of Europe's biggest clubs lining up bids for him this summer, Byren's president has already offered 20m euros but that was turned down, so as I say it will be a big club (money wise) such as Chelsea or Madrid that will end up with him, I think though that Barca should get in there and pair Messi and Aguero together, would be some partnership if their exploits in the Argie youth team are anything to go by. Could make a move for Eto'o to Chelsea perhaps? Now that is a player you would want to have if Sheva wasn't possible.

I think Chelsea will end up spending the most money once again this season, for the simple fact that even if Chelsea do bring in 1 or 2 strikers that alone will cost them £££. If they paid £26M for Drogba then someone like Eto'o or Adriano would cost £30m plus and someone like Torres to any other club would cost £20m but if its Chelsea then add an extra £10m on top, you get the Essien scenario all over again.

Clubs like Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc will be lucky if the manager has £20m budget for the window to buy 2 or 3 players!!!

I seriously doubt that Eto'o is a possibility now, he's just bonkers:)
We paid over he odds for Drogba & others in the past granted but there's no need to spend as much in the future as we only need improvements now not wholesale changes. Ballack will be joining it seems but that's only wages & Maniche for one will hopefully be going to help fund them plus Frank Arnesen should have have been earning his crust behind the scenes. I think Man.U. will be the biggest spenders next season, their new owners are desperate for success & need to see a future to their investment:)

Thats the first time in my life Ive left a match early. Was so close to leaving at 1-3, the fourth just rubbed salt in the wound and I had to leave.

The worst thing about it was that Newcastle werent any good, we just hit the sefl destruct button 4 times. Absolute madness. I really dont have a clue what happened.
