The England Cricket Thread

Yeah absolutely, so many countries are like it. Just frustrating the commentators have to partake in it. Although Gower doing the lines has been funny at times!

Reduced overs in the third T20 vs. Oz; not sure how it's fair as a 10 over game obviously requires different tactics so Oz surely have received a big advantage from this weather.

Great result from Ireland, England just never got going, couldn't get bat on ball until Moeen came in. Makes qualification much harder, but suspect there'll be a few more games drawn with the weather as its been in Australia over the last few months.

I watched yesterdays game. Disappointing. Not saying we were going to win it but it looked like Ali had his eye in.

It's a daft time to have the world cup here given how unpredictable the weather is this time of year and the scheduling of it is doing nothing to promote it either. England Ireland was at 3pm local time in the biggest stadium in the country. Was barely 5,000 there despite huge ex pat populations of both nations. It was also at stupid o clock BST for those watching at home. Then Afghanistan NZ was scheduled after, fair enough it didn't go ahead but at a start time of 7pm local time means that anyone in New Zealand would be going to bed about then. Should have switched the games round. The night before Australia played in Perth at 7pm. There are three time zones between Perth and the east side of Australia where the majority of people live. Australia batted second at 1am Wednesday morning. It's madness.

Was worried with so many wickets left NZ would get on top of this one, but bowlers delivered at the right time to swing it Englands way.

England played really well last night. That defeat to Ireland and the weather really hurting the chances of qualifying. We would have beaten Afghanistan and Australia imo.
