Can’t believe England are going to loose this test having been 180-1 while watching Nathan Lyon limp off the pitch crocked! I’m all in favour of England playing aggressively but recklessly hooking the ball in a totally uncontrolled manner when Australia have three men in the deep is just pathetic.

It's great that Stokes and co are attracting youngsters to the sport to experience the manifest delights of England batting collapses for decades to come.

Cricket is in terminal decline anyway they might as well at least try and win a few games before it dies!

I do really like the aggressive approach and would much rather see England fail while trying to win than some of the dire stuff we had before Stokes arrived it was just the brainless hooking that annoyed me it is such an uncontrolled shot the risk reward balance isn’t right. Root doesn’t play his ramp shot if third man is in so why play a hook shot to a head height ball with three men back it laughable!

Some people seem to consume sport in a way such that they are only happy when their team is winning. It's just a recipe for disappointment, as no matter how many great teams there are, only one is going to be top of the pile at any one time.

I don't watch sport to see my team win. I watch professional sport to be entertained for a few hours. It's obviously more exciting and great when my team does win, but ultimately I don't care, as long as the spectacle is good. I was absolutely glued to the last test even though we lost out, best test in years.

Not excusing playing with absolute disregard for the result, there is clearly a balance to be struck and I think this England team need a bit more nous at times, but overall the quality of our test cricket has been hugely improved.
