England have been terrible since the shocking decision to banish one of our most exciting players, KP.

I believe that KP still had another 1-2 years in him at the time, and we've been on a downhill slope ever since the last Ashes whitewash.
 
I cant believe we can go from 360 for 4 to potentially losing this by an innings. I wouldnt stop at Cook and Strauss either, Root can be stripped of his captaincy for me, far too many errors.

That's hilarious. How dare he not immediately be the perfect captain right?

He's been lined up for the captaincy for years and you'd remove one of the best batsman in the world, after one away ashes tour with a serious lack of squad talent, Ben Stokes missing, and a seriously pedestrian and ageing bowling attack.
 
The problem with Root is his conversion rate is very poor. He is probably too inexperienced to be captain, but there is little other stand out choices. England are going to be on a steady decline now for a few years until some new players come through.

EDIT - Strauss must be sacked too. He has overseen a complete shambles from start to finish.
 
Australian selectors must be relieved that Marsh fired at last. It looked like an odd decision, but he came through in the end.

Who said id remove the best batsman in the world? I said id take his captaincy...which I would. This is, without doubt the most embarassing series on and off the pitch that i have ever witnessed. This is shameful.

You weren't about when 2006-7 ashes happened then :p Still laugh at that Harmison ball:D
 
What is galling is that the Aussies aren’t a classic side; we’ve just been weak. Boeing is the issue - clearly lacking some real pace. All the off field stuff is the icing on the cake
 
Play abandoned, more rain due tomorrow, England will get their draw, and Australia will be robbed of a well deserved win.
